Diannes pov

To be honest with you, I really didn't think we'd get to Blackpool. I hoped we would, obviously for the sake of Joe's nan and Joe of course but getting past even week 6 was unexpected.

It was the after party of Saturday night and let's just say that Joe was more than a little drunk. Actually, nearly everyone was apart from me.

I sighed "he knows we are meant to be training in the morning, what's he doing?" I thought though I was soon interrupted by the sight of a very intoxicated Joe making his way towards me

"Y'alright, Di?" He asked, casually shoving his arm over my shoulder, music still booming.

I laughed "just fine, Joseph. But if we want to be up early tomorrow, we have to get you home"

He pulled a poury face, wobbling slightly "awww Di! Come on, at least dance with me a bit"

I wavered but stood my ground "no, Joe we have to leave now if you're going to be up early tomorrow!"

"Fine! But I'm not happy about it" he pouted again. I laughed he really was a goof sometimes.

Soon, we were in a taxi and, because the traffic was so bad, it would take us a while to get to Joe's flat where I was still staying.

I shuddered slightly, thinking back to the reason I had to leave my flat in the first place.

Joe was snoring quietly. "He's so cute..." I thought.

Joe being asleep gave me time to think about everything that had happened.

When we were doing the jive training and I said "I'm so proud of you! I could just kiss you!" I cringed at my awkwardness. Then I remembered. His eyes went wide. Wide. Does that mean anything?

Then, I began to think of the phone conversation I heard after our foxtrot. Between Joe and Byron.

~~lil' flashback~~

I was flicking through my phone, trying not to listen to Joe's phone conversation.

"Oh nothing...I was just wondering wether you had told her yet."

"Told who what exactly?" Yeah. Told who what, Joe?

"Told Dianne that you like her, of course!"

Wait why can I hear Byron? Oh, Joe must have pressed speaker.

At hearing my name, I pressed my ear against the door. Just for a listen.

"No! Byron, come on. Think! Realistically, someone like her could never like someone like me!"

My jaw dropped. "He likes me?" I thought.

"Dude, honestly you should just go for it. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?"

"I mean, embarrassment, humiliation, and possibly the loss of one of the best friendships I've ever had"

The best friendships? I smiled at that. Then, an epiphany hit me. FRIENDships, Dianne.

Byron was quiet for a moment.

Joe looked down at his phone.
"Oh shit!" He turned off speaker.

I stepped away from the door and carried on going through my phone, trying not to think about that odd conversation I had witnessed.
