Lyrical Sproule got out of her family's rental car, and bit the inside of her lip. Moving. The new house was nicely enclosed up with a small fence, and the red brick walls were soaked with rain water. It was nice, but not home. Washington wasn't the kind of place she had in mind to move to, but her parents had other plans.

" This is it, right?" She asked, crossing her cold arms.

Brian, her father replied, " Yep, nice isn't it?"

" I love it so far," Lyrical's mother clutched Brian's arm. Lyrical was dumbfounded with how fast it all had happened, she had moved and was never going back to New York. She blinked back the tears and held her yorkie, Stella, in her carry on bag even tighter to her chest.

" Shall we step inside?" Her dad asked.

Lyrical answered honestly, " Fine, I'm cold anyway." The stone path led all the way to the fancy door. The sound of the lock opening echoed in the empty house. Lyrical was the first to step in the new house. The wooden floorboards creaked underneath her brown boots as she stepped further into the chilly house. She set down her dog' fabric enclosed crate, and opened the Velcro to let Stella out.

The sound of her dog's nails clicked on the wooden floor. Time to do what everyone usually does when they first move, look for their room. After walking down a few halls Lyrical found her bedroom. It was pretty large, not like a master bedroom but well sized, bigger then her one in New York.

" Come here Stella, come here," she called after her teeny tiny dog. She didn't have the energy to move the few things that was in the car, the moving truck would come tomorrow. All she did was sit in the center of her bedroom floor, staring out the window.

One Month Later. December 24, 2018.

Everything was finally all moved into their house, and they all could now officially call it home. The ground outside was covered in snow about almost to your knees. Stella layed near the fireplace, absorbing all the heat her small body could. Brian drank his egg nog as he sat on the sofa. Carolyn was knitting a scarf, also sitting on the couch next to Brian. Lyrical was in her bedroom again, staring out the window watching the snow.

Her mother came in the room, " We're about to head out to Linda's Christmas Party, are you coming?"

" I'm okay, thanks."

Carolyn touched her cheek fondly, " Are you sure?" Lyrical nodded, and smiled slightly at her mother.

" Well we'll be back by ten," she headed toward her door, " I love you."

Lyrical kept looking out at the snow, " Love you too." The door shut behind her, and Lyrical pondered if she should just go. After toying with the idea for awhile, she decided to get her dark colored coat, and the same brown boots. Lyrical got her knitted beanie on, and gloves, before opening the door. A gust of cold wind blew inside the house, making her shiver still. Quickly shutting the door, she stepped onto the snowy landscape.

Walking further to the side of her front yard, she decided she would make a snowman. Lyrical got on the ground and started to roll some snow into a larger circle. Realizing she forgot a hat, carrot, and a scarf, she hurried inside to get those things. Hurrying back outside she continued on the second large mass of snow to put on top of the other one. Making this snowman reminded her of when her and her best friend made snowmen every year together, now she was gone, and it was just her making the snowman.
