You meet Shaun when you pushed the wrong button in the elevator and go up instead of down to the ground floor like you were supposed to.

You and Shaun have been together for a little over a year now and he wanted to repay you for buying him a TV. You told him many times before that he didn't have to get you anything in return, so Shaun had to keep it as a surprise. Shaun decided to ask Clair for advice.
"What do women like?" Shaun asked Clair who was typing something on a computer.
"Why?" Shaun did not want to say that he was planning on getting something for (Y/N) because Clair might tell her.
"Um I just want to know." Shaun's not a very good liar.
Clair smirked, "is it for your girlfriend?"
'How did she know!?' Shaun's palms began to sweat, "I um- I um yyes. (Y/N) got me a television last year and I want to get something for her."
"Aawwww that's so sweet Shaun." Clair turns away from the computer. "Women like lots of things, like flowers, jewelry, clothes, chocolate and stuffed animals." Shaun grabbed his little notebook and wrote everything down. "It mostly depends on what she likes then you'll know what to get her." That didn't exactly help but Shaun planned on going to the mall after work to find something for (Y/N).

Shaun called you saying he might be a bit late coming home and that you won't have to worry about picking him up. It made you slightly suspicious, but he might have another long day at the hospital and might not come home till 2 in the morning.
Cookies were baking in the oven, and you put up the last decorative string lights. You were taking the cookies out of the oven when you heard the door unlock and a bunch of bags. You walked out of the kitchen and into the living room where Shaun was. He had the sweetest smile on his face. "You said you'd be late. I thought you weren't going to be home till like 3 in the morning. It's only 10:30."
"Well, I wanted to surprise you." Shaun brought all the bags in front of him and extended his arms out in front of you. "I didn't know what to get you, so I got you one of everything." "What? Shaun what store did you go to?"
Shaun proceeded to take one of the bags and dump everything out on the kitchen table. "I went to the mall."
"Shaun, you didn't have to buy me all this." Shaun continued to dump everything out "I know but I wanted to make you feel special. That's how you made me feel when you bought me the TV." The floor was littered with boxes of chocolates, jewelry, bunny stuffed animals, and some bouquets of flowers. "Shaun this is very sweet of you but-" you saw the pink Victoria's Secret bag he was hiding behind his back. 'Oh my gosh' you felt your cheeks heat up. "Shaun what's in that bag?"
Shaun's adorable smile didn't leave his face as he brought the bag in front of him. "Well, I saw a lot of women go into this store. And a lot of people trying to buy something for their significant other." Shaun reaches into the bag, "there was also a sign outside of the store that said, 'get her the best surprise!' So, I knew I had to get it for you." In your mind you were imagining what type of lingerie he could have gotten you. "I think this will look great on you." Shaun pulled the lingerie out of the bag and held it out so you could see.

You let out a nervous laugh which confused Shaun, but he kept the smile on his face. "Why are you laughing? I didn't say anything funny." You shake your head and hug him.
"You're so cute Shaun." Of course, Shaun doesn't know the implications of lingerie; he just knows it's something you'd look lovely in.
He wrapped his arms around you "Thank you. You are very cute too." Shaun kissed the top of your head "I never understood what people meant when they said they felt like the happiest person on earth, but now I know why. (Y/N), you make me feel very happy." His grip on you tightened a bit "I love you a lot. But when I love things, they die."
You looked up at Shaun and held his face "you make me very happy, and I love you too, but don't think so negatively." You kissed Shaun's cheek "it's Christmas, were supposed to think happy thoughts. I know it can be hard sometimes, but Shaun- look at me, we have each other right now okay. Try not to overthink about all the bad things that could happen in the future. What's important is that I'm here with you and you're here with me. We're safe and there's no need to worry okay."
Shaun kisses your cheek and embraces you again, "okay."
