Chapter 2 ( Returning to Reality )

I quickly got up from my bed and dashed to the bathroom to take a quick bath and change my clothes.

Once was done preparing i quickly gathered my things and left my apartment.

I got a cab and told him the location to where i was going and we drove off.

Good thing there was no traffic today so we drove a bit faster than other days."God pls have mercy on me..." I prayed "I still need this job and I don't want to get fired because I'm late".

After about 5 mins later we arrived at the mall and I payed the driver.

I quickly got out of the cab and dashed inside the mall to go to work.Seriously i almost tripped like 5-8 times.I finally arrived at my job if you're wondering where i work well i work at a fast food restaurant.

I entered the mall and of course the first one to greet me was my bff Kyle.
"Heyyy...!!!Glad you could make it" he greeted me with a soft smile"Good morning kyle where's the boss, is he mad at me?"i asked with a scared expression on my face.

"Don't worry he's not mad at you"he replied

"Really?"

"Just kidding...yeah he's a bit pissed that you're late"he said with a serious face

Ok great the last thing i need is my boss being mad at me."Btw he needs you at his office right now"he stated "ok I'll go there now"i said about to walk away,when kyle grabbed my wrist "Hey lil mon good luck with the boss,I hope he doesn't fire you,I wouldn't like it if i see you cry"he said with a concern smile.

I smiled back at him and I continued on to the boss's office.I kept on calming myself down before I enter the office and once I'm ready I entered the office.

The boss was typing something on his computer when I entered he notices me and stoped."Alice pls have a seat"he stated with a smile,I quickly sat down and started to listen to him."I'm a bit disappointed in you alice"he started.I was so nervous so i couldn't control my whole body and thoughts "BOSS I'M SOOO SORRY PLS DON'T FIRE ME!" I accidentally screamed out that made my boss chuckle "Hahaha what are you talking about,No I'm not gonna fire you why in the world would I do that"he said "i just wanted to tell you that I hope that this won't happen again"

I nodded and i left his office still shocked and happy that I didn't lose my job."Heyy lil mon how's the boss?" I heard a voice calling me,so I looked to the direction of where the voice was coming from and i saw kyle,He was walking to my direction with a huge smile on his face"So aren't you going to tell me what happened?" He asked once again"Don't worry he didn't fire me" i replied and i saw him smile for a while and then frowned "ohhh I really prayed that you'd get fired"he teased .I rolled my eyes at him and lightly punched his shoulder playfully.

Seriously I'm so lucky to have a friend like Kyle,Sometimes i wonder why he would work at a place like this,I mean back in high school he was so popular and smart.

Flashback:

"Hey lil mon" Kyle said with a huge smile.

"Hello Mr,Popular"i replied,teasing him.

"Hey I'm not popular,I just have a lot of friends"

"Right...friends"

While we where talking a girl walks up to Kyle."Hey Kyle"she flirted "How's your day been going?" "Are you available later.Let's go on a date!"

Kyle looked a bit annoyed like me,But turned to look at me and he saw the annoyed expression on my face,Then he smirked.

"Well I would like to go out with you,But me and my friend here have other plans"Kyle replied to her question.

The girl nodded and looked at me with a disgusted face then walked away.

"Phew...Glad she left"Kyle said.

I looked at him and smiled "Yeah looks like she was annoying you"I laughed

"Don't you mean you're the one who's getting annoyed"He teased.

"What do you mean?"

"C'mon we both know that you were jealous"

"Me? Jealous? Hell naw!"

We both laughed and continued with our day.

Flashback Ends:

I was lost in thoughts that I didn't hear Kyle calling me."Hey lil mon you ok?"he asked"Yeah I'm fine"I quickly replied"Haha...ok,Anyway are you available tomorrow?" He asked."Yeah why?"

He looked at me with a huge smile"I was wondering if you could meet up with me."

"Where?"

"At our favorite cafe duh...."

I looked at him and gave him a soft smile "Alright as long as you're paying"
