The morning was cold and quiet. Renjun woke up in an empty room and sadness filled his heart. Donghyuck, who had slept soundly next to him at night suddenly disappeared. He thought that maybe Hyuck had to use the restroom or so, but now it had been hours and there was no sign of said boy.
Renjun had to eat alone with little to no appetite. He was so used to Donghyuck encouraging him to eat more than he usually did. The onigiri he usually gave to the other was as lonely, just like the Chinese himself.
At noon Renjun started to feel anxious. He had the appointment with Dr Moon today. If it was up to him, then he would have ran home ; the poor boy was terrified of what was going to be said to him and how he was going to be treated.
Then the night with Hyuck started to play in his mind. The way they had compared their body fat with one another, Renjun had had an urge to pinch Donghyuck's cheeks as they looked so soft and puffy. Those rosy cottons were something Renjun learned to admire. Secretly he wished that he had done that instead of crying, the morning headache was not pleasing to wake up to, but surely to a memory of Hyuck's squeezed cheeks would've been soothing.
Renjun looked at himself carefully as he was in front of the bathroom mirror. Each libm he saw as ugly mass of fat suddely felt foreigner. The feeling of seeing it as something it may not be. Now he just desired to feel normal to not to be in this situation, he was just confused. Sometimes Renjun forgot that this was his reality, that this was his life.
Waiting in front of the door to the therapist made Renjun feel stressed. He wasn't prepared for anything the doctor had to say. He waited.
Gently the door was opened and a decent looking man looked out, smiled and called the boy in. With such kindness he was seated on a deep purple lovechair near the window. Surprisingly there were no bookshelves or workspace in the spacious room. Yet it all felt inviting.
Soft pastel walls with few plants here and there, it reminded Renjun of living room that existed in the 60's or so on. Although the gramophone and vinyls on a coffee table in the corner represented more of the 20's, maybe even the 40's.
It made him realize that it was all just to make patients feel welcomed like it was their own home or some pretty cafe they would usually go to.
❝Huang Renjun, it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Dr Moon, but as of now you may call me Taeil. This room if for freedom, no need for formalities.❞
Again that smile. Renjun didn't understand how the man could be cheery yet so collected. It didn't fit in his mind, but he accepted it. Anything to get a better view of what's wrong with him. If anything was wrong.
❝How are you feeling today? Be honest, I'll take your answer into consideration on how I'll present other questions to you, if we get to them today.❞
❝Well, I'm quite nervous, I guess?❞ and scared, he wanted to say. Scared of what happened to Donghyuck, but Renjun thought it was best if he didn't mention him.
❝Well, Renjun, would you like some tea? It would surely calm your nerves down a bit.❞
To that the boy only nodded and pressed his lips into a thin line. Taeil hadn't smiled at that, but gave a rather odd gaze.
Hei, my darlings
(This chapter isn't read through, and probably has typos or any other errors)
I'm so sorry, I've been terrible with updates. Also I apologise that this chaper is so short, I promise the next one will be longer, like much more longer than this one.
I was actually on writers block , so I had no idea what to write next, but now I've got quite many.
In addition, I'm writing another renhyuck book, which I'm trying to make really beautiful to read, so it's going to take a longer time to publish that.
