Chapter 2

The Meadow

My favourite place in the world. The meadow is a perfect circle with beautiful, exquisite flowers dotted randomly in the gorgeous grass. "NO WAY, no way, no way. How did you find it?" I was over the moon; this was the best birthday pressie ever. "Easy, I am a wolf you know!" I turned around and grabbed him in a massive hug. We gracefully walked over into the middle, while spinning me over in one hand, and sat on the perfect grass in the middle of the symmetrical circle. We sat there quiet and peaceful staring into each others eyes, sometimes he would trace the sparkle of my skin with his big finger. "Nessie," he announced "I've got something to tell you." "What is it? Go ahead...." I said. "You may get mad. I am afraid you won't like me after this." He said calmly, but some worry in his tone. "Spit it, Jake." I demanded. Now worrying what he is on about. "Renesmee" Oh no I was in trouble or something, he never used my real name. "I'm in love with you. I love you, Nessie" Shock washed through my body and I froze there. I thought to myself move, move you're scaring Jacob.

This is what I want, isn't it. No, it's what I thought I wanted. I wasn't ready, I'm 7! I got up and ran quickly. I followed my scent back to the Jaguar. I could hear Jacob shouting my name and then phasing. I ran straight past the car. I just ran and ran and ran. I knew where I was going. Home. I didn't stop. I ran and ran at vampire speed. I could hear the wind bashing against my face. I stayed out of humans view. As soon as I knew my father was reading my mind, I thought get the hell out of my head. It reminded me of Jacob because he says that. I made my mind go blank and ran up the stairs straight to my room. I heard everybody follow me. "GO AWAY!" I screamed as I slammed the door behind me. I lay there with my head dead in my pillow, sobbing a river of tears for what felt like days. There was a light knock on the door. I stopped for a minute whipping the salty tear from my hard face. The door edged open. "It's only me," my mother said. "I heard what happened, well I didn't, your father did" she explained. "I don't know what to do." I struggled to say.

"Do you love him?" she asked me.

"Yes, but I'm 7." I explained. I was young and foolish.

"I know, but your not if you get what I mean."

"Still." I said. I did love him and I was getting ready for a relationship. Maybe I was wrong, maybe it was what I wanted. "I'll send Jacob up here, when you ready." She said. "No, it's okay. I'm ready. I'll go down stairs." I told her.

I swung my legs over the side of my posh bed. I took my momma's hand as we walked down stairs and then let go as we got to the door of the back garden, leading to the pool.

My perfect sat on the lush out-door sofas. I looked for the face I was looking for but could not find it. I scanned the garden for him and out the corner of my eye, I saw him sat on the edge of the pool with his legs dangling over the edge in the shimmering water. The moon reflected on the surface of the twinkling water. He saw me out the corner of his eye too. I ran to his side and sat on the edge of the pool copying him. "Hey" Was all I could say. "Nessie, I'm..." I stopped him short as I put my finger over his mouth. "No, I'm sorry. I over reacted. You took me by surprise." He tired to say something, but I wouldn't let him. Before he could say anymore, I gently pressed my lips to his for 2 seconds. His warm, full lips were unwilling to let go. As I moved back, there was happiness that shook through my body. He starred into my day dreaming eyes and I starred back. We sat like that for half an hour. I'd had enough of starring; the tension was killing me. I pushed him in to the pool, playfully. He came up to the surface, with joy on his face and pulled me into the water by my legs. I screamed, playfully as if it was a shark attack. I splashed water at him and he splashed back. We started to playfully wrestle.

He grabbed me in his arms; round my waist, close to his chest and gently forced his lips to mine. He kissed passionately and carefully. In that second my whole future flashed before my eyes. I and Jacob, hand in hand, sat on a porch bench with two little children running past. One girl and one boy with black hair and the same skin tone as mine. The flash of the future faded away with the children, but Jacob's lips did not leave mine. And I didn't want them to. My hand where in his hair and his hand on my waist. To soon his lips left mine. I placed my hand on his cheek and told me that I loved him.

"I love you too." Was all he said I heard lots 'awwwww's and 'how cute's and some gagging noises. I blushed. Jacob stuck his middle finger up at them, with his eyes still on mine, and stroked me red cheek. I splashed water him and he splashed back. "Join in" I called to my embarrassing family.

Suddenly Uncle Emmett grabbed Aunty Rosalie in his arms and then booming into the clear water. My mother and father both stood up but before momma could move any further, Dad grabbed her and slung her on his back and dived gracefully in the pool. Grandpa Carlisle and Grandma Esmee sat on the edge of the pool, kicking the water. Aunty Alice didn't want to get her hair wet but she didn't get a choice. Uncle Jasper grabbed her by her legs and threw her over his shoulder, like a rag doll, then threw her in the water, followed by him jumping in.
