Crushed

Chapter 1

3rd person pov:

It was a normal day at the guild, nothing seemed out of place. There were a couple of brawls that were ended with the master scolding his children.

"Ugh" groaned a blonde haired beauty at the bar.

"Whats the matter Lucy? Was it the mission you just got back from?" The white haired bait maid asked, while cleaning a mug.

Lucy sighed before answering, "Yea, Natsu caused too much damage this time and more than half of the reward money wasn't given to us so that the town can pay for the damages."

The bairmaid just giggled lightly then replied, "You're Natsu's bestfriend, you should know how missions go. Any mission taken by team Natsu is going to reak havoc on any town."

"I swear sometimes I feel like we're a bigger threat to the town than an actual monster." Lucy said while sipping on her strawberry milkshake. After a few minutes of chatting with Mira about her recent mission, Lucy felt an arm being draped over her shoulder.

"Hey Luce whatcha doing?" The pinkette said looking at the blonde mage who seemed to practically glow in his eyes. He always adored the way her eyes lit up when ever she was at the guild or whenever he mentioned a job they would go on. However, he didn't see that familiar twinkle in her eyes. 'It's my fault isn't it? She wasn't able to pay her rent...' he thought.

"Hey Natsu, i was just talking to Mira about the mission." Lucy told Natsu while looking up to him. Their eyes focused on each other, both lost in each other's gazes until a squeal was heard from the barmaid who kept chanting "nalu" over and over again with hearts in her eyes.
Lucy and Natsu both sighed and went to a table  where gray and Erza were talking. Most likely about how the mission was and when they would go on their next one.

Everything seemed so happy in the guild, nothing could go wrong, right?

Lucy POV

While sitting at the table with the full team Natsu, I realized that Natsu had been quiet the entire time. I wonder why. 'Is it because of the mission?' I tapped his shoulder lightly and not a second later he put all of his attention on me instead of whatever he was thinking about.

"Hey, you've been quiet for a while, is there something on your mind? Do you want to talk about it?" I asked him, resting my hand on his shoulder while tilting my head a little. His eyes at first showed shock then softened. He then nodded, stood up, grabbed my hand and dragged me out the guild.

"I'm sorry..." Natsu started as he looked down, rubbing the back of his neck. Confused I asked, "About what?" Natsu moved his head a bit to look at me then looked back down.
"I cost us our reward money, and you need to pay rent..." He mumbled softly, I was just able to hear. I put my finger under his chin and lightly lifted his head to look at me.
"Hey, Im not mad or anything, we can still go on other jobs. Fire is hard to control and we all kind of go overboard on missions. Don't blame yourself, I don't want you to feel guilty." I spoke softly as I slowly got closer to him and wrapped my arms around his torso. I felt him tense up at first but then he slowly relaxed and hugged me back. We stayed like that for a while until I ended the hug and jokingly said, "Lets head back inside before Mira starts any more rumors."

It was already night time at the guild and I decided to go home, of course when I got there Natsu had already make himself comfy on my bed with no happy by his side. 'Must have left the guild with Wendy and Charle' I thought as I walked into the bathroom and took a quick bath.
After dressing I remembered I had a certain dragon slayer in my bed. Instead of kicking him out like I always did, I decided that today was a rough day for team Natsu and more importantly, Natsu himself. So I got in my bed and almost immediately a pair of warm hands found my waist and held me close to a rock hard chest. While Natsu was embracing me all I could think about was the warmth that his body emitted, and fell into slumber. But what I didn't hear was the soft mumbling coming from Natsu who was having a nightmare.

End of chapter one! So I thought of this story last night at 3 am when I randomly woke up. I hope you guys like it and if you have any comments or concerns feel free to tell me. I don't really have any updating schedule yet due to the fact that midterms and finals are coming up and I need to study for those.
