"So you can order pizza if you want, money is in the drawer, or there's food in the cupboard. We'll be back Monday morning. You sure you'll be fine?" My mother, in her normal overwhelmed state, asks.

"Yes mom, I'll be fine. You guys go have fun." Giving her a reassuring smile I help load their bags in the car.

"Ok, if you need anything just call us ok?" She says then gives me a smothering hug.

"I'll be fine, I'm almost 18." I say hugging her back.

She pulls away and starts to get in the car. "Ok, just be careful." And with that she closes the door.

I stand and wave as they pull off, then turn and start walking back towards the house.

The whole weekend by myself. What should I do with myself?

Without thinking I pull my phone out of my pocket to call someone.

"Hey it's Abby, you want to come over later?"

Harry's POV

"Dunked it!" Louis exclaims as he swings from the rim.

"Lucky shot."

"Yes, it was." Ok now he's just being cocky. "So tell me about this girl you're crazy about."

I look at the ground. "I'm not 'crazy' about her."

He rolls his head back laughing. "Aww come on dude! She's all you've been talking about since we got here."

"I have not! All I did was mention her." I protest.

"Right..." He bounces the ball up and down. "So is she pretty?"

I'm a little thrown off by his question, but quickly recover. "Yea, she is." She's beautiful.... I can just picture her right now. The way her blonde hair falls just below her shoulders, her baby blue eyes gleaming in the sunlight, her freckled nose crinkling when she laughs, I can't stop thinking about her.

"You think she's got a hot friend?" I almost forgot Louis was still there. It's like I was in my own world. What's happening to me?

"I don't know, I'll have to find out." I laugh to cover up my distractive thoughts.

"You do that." He says as I grab the ball from him and dunk it.

Mocking him. "Dunked it!" I yell.

"Funny, now for the tie breaker!"

--------------------

I head up to my room after the game with Louis to check my phone. Abby called me right after school and asked if I wanted to come over later to watch The Notebook. Of course I told her yes, and she sent me her address. It sounds familiar...

*Hey do you want me to bring the notebook or do you have it?*

*What girl doesn't have the notebook?^•^* I can imagine her giggling at my text right now.

*Ha ok I'll be there in 20 minutes.*

*See you soon!:)*

I slide on my boots and look at myself in the mirror. I'm wearing my normal white t-shirt and jeans, not much I can do with my hair.

Where are my parents I haven't seen them all day. That's strange. I say them this morning, I think. Oh well they wouldn't notice if I was leaving anyways.

I step outside in the breezy air. It's a little chillier than it normally is in New Haven. That's Connecticut weather for you always changing. I stuff my hands in my coat pockets and head down the street towards Abby's house.
