Dalbreath thought he was being awakened at the Nunn mansion, but then he heard his father's voice. Maurinn and Lianonn stood staring down at him near their spot by the dig where Lianonn worked in the last dream they both had about him.
"Hello, Dalbreath," said Lianonn.
"Daddy!" yelled Dalbvreath. "Is this a dream?"
"Of course," said Maurinn.
"Oh goody, what shall we do in this dream?" said Dalbreath.
"I thought we would go back in time and meet Finn, and Theona in the olden days when even I was young," said Maurinn.
"Can we do that?" said Dalbreath, intrigued.
"It's a dream not dream. We can do anything we like," said Maurinn with a smile.
"I've always wanted to meet Finn MacCoomal," said Lianonn.
"So now we shall," said Maurinn. "Look, a new arrival." She pointed to a black flying saucer coming down from the sky. It came down quickly and landed a short distance away.
"What is this?" said Lianonn to his mysterious wife.
"Even in a dream, we need a time machine to go back in time," whispered Maurinn.
"Islann!" yelled Dalbreath, running over to greet him as the door to the saucer ship opened, revealing the ancient Wizard from Ha Mesh.
"Come, my husband," said Maurinn, "leave your digging for a time and dig into time with your son and me on the wings of true freedom."
Lianonn kissed his wife on the cheek. "You have such a romantic spirit sometimes."
"Anything for you, my dear Lianonn." The two walked hand in hand toward to the ship and into this interesting dream meeting with an ancient Wizard and inventor named, Islann.
Islann stood smiling down at them from his spot on the ramp door. "I heard your call, madam," he said, smiling.
"I am glad you came," said Maurinn. "Am I right in assuming your machines can time travel?"
"We don't do it, but yes, they have that capacity if we want them to, why?"
"Well, I wanted to look up Finn MacCoomal and his daughter seventeen hundred years ago, when they would have been on the Isle of Ys."
"The Isle of Ys?" said Islann in surprise. "May as well look for the mythical beast in the city of Stromnia. There is no way to tell where the Isle of Ys if from second to second, let alone seventeen hundred years ago."
"Legend says that it was two hundred miles off the coast of Eslor to the northwest at that time. Do you think you can find it now?"
"It is often covered in thick fog," complained Islann, but none too convincingly.
"Come on," said Maurinn, "you can converse with Talissin too you know."
Islann smiled, and said, "Okay, it is a dreamnot dream after all. It doesn't hurt to time travel in such an occurrence. Come on board then."
"I'm so happy," said Dalbreath.
Lianonn smiled. "Me too, son. Me too."
____________________In order to time travel, the saucer ship went around and around the planet of Avalon at faster than light speed, until an interdimensional vortex was created that allowed them to time travel. Dalbreath tried to look out the window, but he found that he was stuck in time. They all were, and if Islann had not told the ship when to stop circling they would have gone back in time forever. After about ten minutes they came down from their orbit on a hunt for the Isle of Ys. The ship found the isle quickly, and landed on the beach in the fog. where they waited for the fog to clear.
