I push open the door and walk inside. Footsteps sound and I smile as Justin rounds the corner.
"You came back!" He exclaims giving me a hug and I smile nodding.
"We both did." Hayden says stepping in behind me.
"Awesome." Justin says and I smile looking past him as my dad walks into the room.
"Selena?" My dad asks and I nod.
"Merry Christmas, Dad." I say and he smiles then nods.
"We only have like one guest room, is that okay?" My dad asks and I nod.
"Yes, we'll make it work." I say and he smiles then leads us up the stairs.
"Alright, this is where ya'll will be staying. I'll head out so ya'll can get settled." He says
"Thank you." Hayden and I both say and he nods, smiles then leaves. Hayden and I put our bags down and I sigh falling back onto the bed.
"I am literally so tired." I mutter and he laughs sitting beside me. I roll onto my side and prop my head up with my hand.
"So." I mutter
"So?" He asks back and I laugh sitting up and putting my head on his shoulder.
"Thank you for getting me to come back here."
"You're welcome, but it was your decision in the end."
"I know, but you're the one who inspired me."
"Inspired you, huh?"
"Yes." I say looking up at him. He smiles kissing my forehead then standing up and holding his hand down to me.
"How about we head downstairs?"
I smile taking his hand and he pulls me up.
"Sounds good to me." I say then we leave the room hand in hand.
~~
"Mmm thank you dad." I say as he hands me a cup of his famous eggnog. The only eggnog I would ever drink was his, no other kind, cause nothing else was as good as his. That's a childhood memory I always held on to. Hayden comes back into the room and sits beside me shutting off his phone.
"Sorry, my daughter wanted to talk to me." He says and I smile.
"It's fine, haven't missed much. Dad just handed out his famous eggnog and we're about to turn on a Christmas Carol.
"Eggnog?" Hayden asks and I nod handing him my cup. He takes a sip and nods, "it's really good."
"You want a cup?" My dad asks
"Oh no, I'm fine. Thank you though." He says and my dad nods squatting down to put a Christmas Carol into the DVD player. He stands back up as Hayden throws a blanket over us and I move criss cross applesauce.
"Alright, here we go." My dad says grabbing the remote then sitting back down in his chair. Justin shuts off the lights after grabbing another cup of Eggnog then sits back down in his seat. We all turn our attention to the TV and Hayden throws his arm around my shoulder and pulls me closer to him. I rest my head against his chest then turn my attention back to the TV as one of my all time favorite Christmas movies starts to play. He starts messing with my hair and I smile to myself, melting into him.

"She knocked out?" Selena's dad asks and I nod.
"Yes sir." I say and he laughs.
"She's just like her mother. Always falls asleep just before the movie ends." He says and I smirk.
"That's my girl." I say and he smiles as Justin stands up and walks over.
"Well, I'm going to head to bed." He says and his dad seconds in on it then they climb the stairs. I look down at Selena as she sleeps peacefully and I smirk.
"Alright, let's get you to bed." I mumble then shift and slip off the couch. She groans but doesn't wake up as I bend down and pick her up. I cradle her in my arms then sigh and make my own way up the stairs. I make it into our room and gently put her down on the bed. She grumbles then rolls over as I pull the blanket up on her. I walk over to my suitcase and grab out a pair of sweats and change into them. I pull my shirt off over my head then throw my stuff into a dirty clothes bin before walking back over to the bed.
"Hayden?" She mumbles as I slide into the bed beside her.
"Hey." I whisper as she rolls over to face me.
"Hey." She mutters and I smile pushing her hair back.
"Did you carry me?"
"Yes." I say with a laugh.
"My bad, did the movie end?"
"Yes, you knocked out like literally before the end." I say and she laughs.
"I'm just like my momma."
"That's what your dad said." I say cupping her cheek. She turns her face into my hand and I smile as she kisses my hand.
"I miss her. Especially when Christmas comes around." She whispers and I nod, "I know you do." I say and she nods as I pull her against me. I feel her tears against my skin, but I keep silent, knowing she just needs me to hold her.
"I know you do." I whisper again kissing the top of her head.
Sometimes you just need a good cry.
