Hinata's POV

"I'm leaving Karasuno and go to Tokyo."

The moment I heard those words, I just tensed up, not knowing what to say or do.

The third years, Tanaka-san and Noya-san protested, confused about Kageyama's decision.

Why?

"Kageyama got scouted by at least 2 powerhouse schools in Tokyo. So he made a choice to go to one of them." Coach Ukai said calmly.

"Two powerhouse schools. . !"

"So the King plans to move out of Miyagi to Tokyo?" Tsukishima cleared out.

Kageyama gave us a straight look, answering us clearly.

Tsukishima shrugged and muttered, "Seems like he'll finally be in a place where he belongs."

Kageyama grabbed his uniform that has the #9 on it and handed it to Yachi-san.

"I. . Thank you all for the past year." He looked at us with a steel gaze.

"Let's have a match soon."

5:30 PM | School Grounds

We've always known that Kageyama was in a different and higher level than all of us but it didn't mean we weren't catching up, we had our own strength.

I'm not against his decision, with this, I can finally beat him once we have a match in different schools.

"Powerhouse or not, We won't lose. . !"

I exclaimed to myself and hear footsteps behind me.

"Don't underestimate a team you've never battled against, dumbass."

"Kageyama! No matter what team it is, Karasuno can and will win. I bet my life on it!" I grinned.

He grinned back, "I'll crush you down just like last time."

I smiled, my hair slightly covering my eyes as I slowly looked up at him..

"Not this time."

I saw him flinch just a little and remained his posture, "I'll be the last one standing on the court."

"I'll take down the King of the Court and become number one!"

Kageyama scoffed, "Good luck finding a setter who can match up your speed like me."

"Even if I do find one, he won't be like you."

"Hah. . ? I'm the best setter you've ever had- - What kind of setter would you possibly want."

"My new setter won't be like you or anyone else. He'll be himself and have his own strength. I'll make sure no one will say that he's like the former setter of Karasuno. He'll make his own name so you better watch out!"

That was the last time we ever talked personally.

Karasuno School Grounds | 6:00 PM

Kageyama took a bus to Tokyo as I stayed inside campus for extra practice just outside the gym.

I needed some fresh air that's why I was tossing the ball up high since I didn't know what else to do.

Kageyama. . At this rate, with your rapid development, I bet you' be unstoppable.

I gripped on the small at the thought and grinned shakily, tossing the ball excitedly to who knows where.

"It makes me so excited! ! I'll be the last one standing on the court! !"

"Hey, volleyball freak."

An unfamiliar voice called from the dark.

"Huh- - ? GYOMPH!" A ball that was tossed at my direction hit me square on the face.

I grabbed the ball, while my other hand tended my face.

I looked up to see a guy about a year older than me, he wore a dark blue jacket, ripped jeans and pale blue shoes.

He wore a hard cold glare at me with those slanted silver eyes of his as he scowled at me.

Who is this guy ! !

"W-what- - You wanna fight, bastard ! ?"

He grit his teeth, "Oi."

"Huh- ?"

"About what you said earlier."

"Tell me your name first! Who are you- - A-and what about what I said? You're the one who called me a - - "

"VB freak." He sneered, smirking down at me.

"! ! ! No way am I telling what I said! Leave me alone- - bastard ! !"

"Mood." He yawned before going back to glaring at me.

"Pass me the ball." He said.

"Huh- - Uh." I passed him the ball lightly, just above his head and watched him as he raised up both of his arms and surprisingly tossed the ball with speed and strength, sending it to me.

I widened my eyes at the sight of the ball, with our distance I saw it as the moon.

I bended my knees and flew to grab the ball over my head like how I did the first time I met Ushijima-kun.

I landed on both of my feet, breathless at the amazing calm yet cool and quick toss from the stranger.

The moment I looked back at his silver eyes, he said something that I knew would never leave my mind for eternity.

"No one ever stands on the court alone."
