♡The Sea Puts Me At Ease♡

"Are you awake?" my phone buzzed as a response to my text was sent "yea I'm up. what's up?" Jamie answered, she was my long time friend from Huntington Beach. "Want to get the girls together and hang?" I responded as I made my way to the nearest Starbucks. "Of course! Are you in Huntington?" my phone lit up. "Yea! Rian invited me to Warped with him and we're stopped here for a show" I ordered and my phone went off again "Ooh your cutie of a brother! We're about to head out. Where are you?" Jamie answered "Meet me at the beach" I said making my way out of Starbucks.

"Sky!!!" I turned around seeing my friends running at me "Guys!!!" I yelled running half way to them before getting hit by a wave of hugs. I looked at the said, it reminded me of kitty litter. "Guys, were in kitty litter" and they all made faces. "How have you been Skylar?" Kalo said setting her towel on the kitty litter "Amazing actually" I said "ooh who is it?" I turned away "What are you talking about?" I said pulling my shirt off. I was planning to go to the beach before I left. "Sky, we see it on your face!" Penelope said "You see nothing!" I said slipping my shorts off and running away diving into the water.

"Sky! 'Austin' is calling!" Kalo said looking at the phone. I started to make my way over to them. Jamie whispered something to Kalo who gave me an evil smirk and answered my phone. "Hey there!" She shouted and I started to run. It didn't work well thanks to the sand but I somewhat got to her. "What are you to Sky? Oh, just a best friend?" As I was snatching my phone from her ear she yelled into it "Sky likes you!!!" I glared at her and answered "hey Austin, what's going on?" I asked "I was just calling you to let you know there's going to be a 4th of July party tonight" I smiled "okay thanks. I'll see you later" I said, before I hung up I heard him "see you"

"so it's him?" Kalo asked as I placed the phone down "it's him" Jamie said wiggling her eyebrows. "Stop it guys" I said as my phone started ringing again. Jack. "Hey Jack! What's up?" I said and Jamie squealed. She always had a thing for him. "Hey Sky! Do you want to hang out tonight?" he asked. I was hesitant for a second but agreed "yeah sure, is it alright if I bring a few friends with me?" "of course!" he said excitedly. I smiled at the girls "okay, what time?" I asked "let's do, like 4?" "Alright! Sure, see you then!" I said hanging out "What'd Jack say?" Jamie asked curling her hair "Jamie, stop. You have a boyfriend,  you can't have Jack. Plus! Remember, Skylar called dibs" Penelope said and Kalo nodded agreeing.  "Fineee, but what happened? Well he wants to hang out today, at 4. You guys want to come?" I asked they all nodded "Okay, well me and Rian are going to visit our mom. I don't know if you guys want to come or go get ready for 5?" I asked. "We'll go get ready and pick you up" Penelope said

"Hey mom" I said hugging the petite lady in the doorway "Mom" Rian said coming in behind me "Rian" she said in a loving way as she kissed his cheek and pulled him into a hug "how are you?" he asked handing her a bouquet of flowers "I'm doing great, how about you?" Her hair had gotten even more white since last time I'd seen her "Amazing, me and Natalie have been talking about having a kid" Rian admitted for the first time. "Ooh! I'll have a grand baby!" she said smiling at him "how about you Sky?" she said turning to me "uh... Well... I... I was thinking about buying a pizza tonight?" she frowned at me "Skylar,  you have to be serious. You're about to be 21" She said disapproving my ways.  I shrugged and made my way to the kitchen, spotting an apple pie on the table. "Rian used to be the same way!" I said raising my voice slightly, my mother has always treated Rian better "What's different between us? We're both your kids!" I yelled. But she looked down "Skylar. You're adopted." I was taken aback for a second "How the hell do you just randomly say that? Why do you just now tell me this anyways?" she looked up no emotions showing "I felt it was the right time. You weren't ready before" she said. I was so angry "Wow mom" it didn't even feel right calling her mom anymore. "I'm leaving" I said grabbing the pie off the table and snatching the closest cleanest fork and walking out the door. I placed the pie in my car and drove off to the beach again.

I laid in the sun tanning trying to clear my mind. I tried not to think at all but Jack and Austin came to my mind. I don't know why but they both did. I can understand why Jack did but I couldn't exactly understand why Austin dad. I can understand partially but not fully. I sat up from my tanning and took in the view of the water. It'd be nice to live in the water actually. It'd probably be a lot easier than it is now.

"Skylar! Where are you?" Penelope called me "I'm at the beach, I'll pick you guys up. Give me ten" I said hanging up and making my way to the car. Within 10 minutes I was at my destination. "Sky, we were going to pick you up. What happened?" Kalo asked "Me and my mom got into a fight sort of. Apparently I'm adopted" I said "Really?" Jamie asked "Yep" I nodded slowly "Are you okay?" Kalo asked getting in "I'm fine, I was angry but I cooled down since then" I said "Why's there a pie in the back seat?" Penelope asked "Oh, I stole that from my mom's house." I said making my friends laugh "your such a dork" Kalo said

"Jack!" I said as he stood by the tour bus with Zack and Alex. He looked at me and waved, as did everyone else. "I'm bringing them along" he said pointing to Zack and  Alex. "That's all good!" I said "I'm bringing the rental car back tonight, do you want to use it while we can?" I asked pointing to my transportation "Yea sure, let's use that" Jack said skipping over to it

"Where are we going?" I asked once on the road "There's this really cool forest" he said directing me to make a right "I mean I might know it already" Kalo said, Jack glared at her and she shrugged "Just sayin"

"This is it?" I asked pulling into a dead end. "Well I was wrong, I don't know this spot" Kalo said "This is the spot" Jack said making his way out of the car with everyone else following "This is chill" I said climbing up a rock and thrusting the air "stop it" Penelope said shaking her head "Or no" I said "We don't have long" "Yea. We don't, we perform in a hour and a half" "Well we'll spend some time here, then head back" "What are we even doing" "Watch, you'll see" Jack said to all of us. He brought us into a clearing where the sun was blocked by the trees. He sat down and beckoned us all to sit as well. "We're telling scary stories!" he said grinning, everyone groaned but I tried to see the positive side "I guess it could be fun" which caused Jack to send a grateful smile my way. "Who's going first?" I asked eyeing them all "No-one wants to go?" I asked looking at them all "Alright chickens, I got it" Penelope said rubbing her hands together "It started on..."

"That wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be" Kalo said to Jamie "True, true" Daisy agreed. We were all making our way back to the rental. I was about to climb down when my wrist was tugged on lightly, I turned to see Jack holding my wrist "What happened?" I asked "Skylar, go as my date to the 4th of July party?" Jack asked quickly before looking down at his shoes, this was a side of him I've never seen before and it was strange compared to his usual self. "Of course" I said smiling at him. He slowly looked up with a grin on his face "Awesome"

Darkness had fallen earlier than usual, it was a surprise to everyone at Warped Tour and everyone in California. "Hey guys!" Alex said getting up on stage where the rest of the guys were waiting. I decided why not stay in the crowd for the night and feel the same thing the fans all were. We were 3 songs in when suddenly everything went black. Murmurs went across the audience, including me. I checked my phone and saw there was no service. I felt panic going through the crowd and suddenly there was pushing and kicking. I was shoved to the ground and everyone was just running over me. I felt myself blacking out, last thing I saw was people taking out their lighters and lighting up the crowd. The lights on stage flickered back to life and the sound of Jack's voice boomed through my ears, right before everything went black.
