Phoenix's POV:
I collapsed on my bed, exhausted. Who knew moving boxes could be so hard? And tomorrow I would be the new girl at Hillcrest High. The very thought of it made me groan. And to top it all off, some jerk was blasting music in the house beside mine. They even had the nerve to leave the window open.
Which was conveniently placed right across from mine. I sighed, hopefully they would turn it off soon.
11:30pm
I was wrong, I was very wrong.
The music blasted from the other house, maybe even louder than it was before."That's it!" I exclaimed, furiously ripping off my comforter and stomping towards the window. Then proceeded to pull up the window pane with unnecessary force, sticking my head out the window.
" CAN YOU TURN IT DOWN?!" I shouted, not really caring if it bothered the other neighbors. Hey,no sleep for me,no sleep for them. Finally,my eyes landed on a boy. I glared at him. He lay in the back of the room, not giving me a clear view of what he looked like.
" Is it bothering you sweetheart?" his deep voice replied. He even had the nerve to smile.
Anger flowed over me in waves , "As a matter of fact, it is" I snapped back icily. Then he did the worse thing he could do to an angry, sleep deprived, 17 year old girl. He rolled his eyes.
" Yeah keep rolling your eyes, maybe one day you'll find a brain back there!" I yelled, not even attempting to hide my annoyance. He cocked his eyebrow at me.
"Woah woman, who lit the fuse to your tampon?" He said smiling cheekily.
You know what? Why was I even bothering with this jerk? I sighed inwardly before shouting back over the still blasting music.
" I'M TRYING TO SLEEP!"
"And I should care, why?" He replied in a monotone voice before proceeding to ignore me, again. Two could play at this game I thought evilly.
"I'll have you know I know your mother." I said fake inspecting my nails, and out of the corner of my eye I saw his attention snap back towards me.
"What?"
" You heard me" I replied looking up, He scoffed.
"No you don't." He replied, complete disbelief filling his voice.
"Wanna bet?" I retorted. His eyes narrowed as he walked towards the window.
" How could you know her already? Didn't you move here like two days ago?" He declared, smiling victoriously.
"She came over earlier today actually, she's very fond of me If I do say so myself. " I chided giving him my best I win you lose smile. Right before I noticed his attire.
His messy brown hair was ruffled giving it a I woke up like this sorta vibe. His forest green eyes stared into my brown eyes with intensity. But what I noticed the most, is that he was ,in fact, shirtless. I scanned over his body noticing his defined ab's. Wow he has a good bod. Not that I was enjoying it, cause I wasn't.
" Woah dude, put a shirt on!" I yelled at him gesturing towards his chest.
" What? Am I distracting you?" He replied smirking. I glared back at him. Truth be told it was, in fact, distracting me. But it wasn't like I was going to tell him that. It would only further boost his already over inflated ego.
I scoffed, "You, distracting me? I don't think so ." I replied pouting.
"Someone's in denial" he said then winked.
"Am not"
"Are too"
"No"
"Yup"
