By three days, I had gotten a flashlight from the storage area of the Stronghold. Triple security was assigned, and I had tried to act normal throughout the week. I had a very good ability to lie, and with the virus, it was even easier. My stomach was hurting the day before the attempt.
At eleven thirty I snuck to the building and perched on the roof. Most of the guards weren't looking. They were supposed to look for outside threats, and only occasionally glanced at the Stronghold inside. I waited for a moment when nobody was looking my way and searched for handholds in the fence. I saw a couple of places and I jumped the highest I could go and held on tight. Where I had put my claws before had places to dig my fingers into as well, so I climbed up quite easily. When people looked my way I froze and pressed against the wall. Since I had a black hoodie, everyone just skimmed over my body. I was frozen in fear every time. People patrolled the inner wall, and once someone was right under me.
When I got to the top of the wall, I silently jumped over the wall and slowly made my way down until I was close enough to jump, and I did. Rolling several times to absorb the impact, I ran far back until I couldn't see the base, and I let my instincts take over. There was a rabbit not far away.
I snuck up on it and when it looked up, I froze. When I got three feet away, I jumped and brought my fist on the head of the rabbit. Then I quickly snapped the neck.
Grimacing, I tore the skin with my nails to reveal an artery and lowered my head.
I perched in the trees, staying still. I knew from books that if they don't see you, but you're out in the open, chances are, they won't see you. People expect what they want to see, not what's actually there. About ninety-nine percent of people being seen would be from movement. I observed the sentry tower closest to me.
It would be a lot harder coming back in for two reasons. The sentries were searching for outside threats, not inside. I was inside. The sentries were also new. This meant that they were alert, as opposed to guards that had been staring at the still forest and the stronghold for four hours.
I picked a quiet spot and quickly dashed to the wall, quietly pressing my face on the freezing wood. I counted to one hundred fifty seconds, forcing myself not to rush, and then slowly moved up the wall, careful to make no noise. Once I slipped and was grabbing on only by a hand for several seconds before I made a recovery. Then I grabbed hold again.
I finally got up and nimbly swung over to the other side. Then I climbed down a few feet until I could leap off the wall and onto the building, which I did with great relief.
I slipped back through the Stronghold, keeping to the shadows. I climbed up the building where I lived and slipped into my room.
The next morning, I listened for any news about anything, but there was nothing. I did my daily routine, reading and feeding the cats and so on and so forth. At lunch, I came to my room and researched.
I didn't fit the description of any other type, so I must have been new. I listed all traits that I had and abilities with invisible ink over a drawing I had done.
I could last much longer without food than any other zombie I had heard of. I could disguise my scent, nails, eyes, and virus behavior easily. It seemed the virus was trying to develop a disguised zombie that could blend in with humans and take them out. My senses were very sharp and I had a sort of sixth sense where I could sense things around me like Spider-man's spidey sense. I probably had lots of speed, stamina, and strength, with not as much strength as a Terror, but almost as much, with more speed and stamina. I was also very stealthy and had sharp vision in both the light and the dark.
For a few days, I laid low and hung out with my friends. Once, an incident came up when we were playing. We were playing tag when I was caught by surprise by one of my friends and bolted away. I ran fast, and I was on the other side of the playground in a heartbeat. Then I stopped and I managed to shrug off the amazement of my friends. The secret was safe.
However, I didn't know what would happen next week. It took us all by surprise.

Science FictionI will probably delete this story sometime soon. Maybe I won't. This was when I was young. It was a bad fanfic, at least by my standards. I do not want my legacy on the internet to be this. I might remake it, probably not. For new readers, this is a...
