We arrived at the last stronghold, River Bend. It was at the river bend.
As we walked in, a tall man with jet black hair and electric blue eyes greeted us with a girl just a little younger than me at his side, presumably his daughter with the same features. The man was stiff and his manner was pompous.
"Hello. Would you like to stay overnight?" He asked.
"Yes," Harry said.
"Very well. Adults, follow me." He turned. I tagged along. Surprisingly, there was a science lab. And this wasn't the usual post-apocalyptic lab, either. Machines, theories, papers, books, and lab coats were in every single room, and there were only a few people.
I wonder.
The girl had trailed behind as if hoping to escape her father's notice. I fell in line with her.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey." She barely acknowledged me.
"Do you know your way around here?" I asked.
"Yeah." She looked up, interested.
"Come along now, Ria." Her father ordered.
She slumped and walked faster.
After the tour, I tracked down Ria and her father. They were in the cafeteria. She looked resigned. I nudged her and whispered, "Can you help me with some science stuff?"
She started and then gave a swift nod.
She turned to her dad. "Dad, I have to do an experiment."
"Okay."
We reconvened in a hallway.
"What do you need help with?" She asked.
"Wait a few seconds." I ran back to the trailer, grabbed the electric glass thorns, and sprinted back. She observed them. "I see."
"It's a polymer modified from indium tin oxide. The molecules are either unstable or partially a conductor, probably aerogel or some other kind of transparent inflammable element."
"Thanks."
Later I played around in the lab and looked at some microorganisms. There was a big display with different labels, and one caught my eye. It was the zombie virus. I grabbed a Phantom virus dish and slid them into a comparison microscope. At the flick of a switch, I looked between the zombie and Phantom virus.
The zombie virus was in long tubes. This was like my Phantom virus. I clicked the switch, expecting the Phantom virus to be the same, but instead, some cylindrical shapes with tendrils sticking out were introduced. As I watched, one of them started pulling another wit hits tendrils and a different one pulled on it too. More joined in, and a few moments later, the virus was torn apart. Now there were some black pellets that I could see, and one of the viruses seized it using some of its tendrils and absorbed it.
I tore my gaze from the microscope and replaced the Petri dishes.
We arrived back at the Campfire the next day and since everyone knew what I was, I got to sit on the roof.
Of course, some developments had happened.
Nothing too important, of course.
Author's Note: So sorry for shortness. I am receiving stifling writer's block.

Science FictionI will probably delete this story sometime soon. Maybe I won't. This was when I was young. It was a bad fanfic, at least by my standards. I do not want my legacy on the internet to be this. I might remake it, probably not. For new readers, this is a...
