Long ago, in a land of enchantment
Lived a handsome prince, a lovely princess
And a simple beggar
The princess loved the beggar
And he loved her as well
Yet jealousy sparked
When the prince caught them
A-kissing
He tore them apart
Killed the beggar and broke her heart
Sent her off into exile
She lived only a year
Then lept from a tower window
To be with her lover once more
