I close my luggage zippers as soon as I finished packing my things. Yes, this is it, I’m all packed. I stand up and pulled over my luggage and went downstairs. My family is waiting for me at the end of the stairs. As I approach them, I can see my mom smiling at me but still can’t hide the worry in her eyes while my dad is resting his hand over my mom’s shoulder together with my sister, Angela. My Dad nodded at me as if giving his approval.

“You can take of yourself right, Kendra?” My mom asked with a worried look.

“Of course, she can hon, our baby is a big girl now. There’s nothing to worry about.” Dad caressed my mom’s back as he is giving her comfort and give her a smile.

“Yes mom. Dad is right, I’ll be alright and I can take care of myself. ” I said to her smiling. Then she smiled back to me as a return. “You sure?” She asked again putting her right hand over my shoulder. I sighed and smiled to her. “Yes mom, stop worrying yourself too much, Ok? And besides, I know a little Korean if just in case.” I joked.

“Ate, (big sister in Filipino) I will miss you.” My baby sister interrupted us and smiling cutely at me. I look down to her. “Don’t forget my pasalubong huh?” She also chuckled and I ruffled her hair.

“Aww” my heart melted because of what she said. “Of course Angie, you’ll always be on the top of my list. Just always be a good girl and don’t give mom and dad a headache, okay? Take care of them. I will miss you too” I reminded her and give her a quick kiss on her cheeks. Although I know my little sis won’t give them a headache. Besides, she always maintains herself being on the top of the class and she’s one very sweet little girl to our family. I just said it out of nothing to say as a reminder. I also kissed and hugged my mom and Dad before l leave to airport. I decided to go alone, and just drive by Manong Peter, our driver. I said, I don’t want them go with me because I don’t wanna cry before I get to the plane and miss them more, and they understand.

I’m already here in NAIA, the Philippine’s International Airport. I’m waiting for my flight heading to Korea. I really want to go in there since I was in high school. Since high school, I was already a big fan of Korea. I love watching Korean dramas, movies and love listening to k-pop songs. And I want to meet even just one of my favorite artists there. It also came to the point that I also studied their alphabet, the Korean Hangeul just because I love their country. I know in my heart, that the people in Korea are very nice and friendly. There are also a lot of beautiful places that I want to visit like the Namsan Tower and Gyangbokgung temple. I also want to learn more about their interesting culture. I’m really excited about it. Good thing that mom and dad approved my request to have my vacation in Korea after I graduate in college. They said that this will serve as their graduation gift for me, and for me this is the best gift I have ever received in my whole life. This is my first time going out of the country though not my first time to ride in an airplane. Anyways, I will be staying in my aunt’s place, my mom’s youngest sister in Seoul, my Aunt married a fine and a very nice Korean man.

“Please fasten your seatbelts; we are now landing in Incheon Airport, Korea.” As the flight attendant announced it, my heart was more filled with excitement. I tilted my head in the window and saw that we are almost there. I can already see the land of Korea clearly. Finally I’m here. As my feet took its first step out of the plane, I immediately took out my camera inside my bag and took a shot of my feet. And after that I uploaded and share it on my instagram and my facebook account.

“My first step in Korea <3 <3”

As I walk inside the airport, I can see many people running towards a single direction. And on that direction, I can see a commotion. I wonder what must be the reason is, maybe there’s a celebrity here. I wanted to check if my thoughts are right, but I realize that my aunt must be waiting for me outside the airport. I must not make her wait for me for so long. So I decided to shrugged it off and walk outside with my luggage. As I step outside the Airport I immediately look for a familiar face, definitely my Aunt’s. After a few seconds I spotted a beautiful, tall, middle-aged woman, with fair skin. That’s my Aunt together with a cute little boy. I bet it is Chris; my cousin. My aunt absolutely changed a lot through the years and became more beautiful. Her husband really took care of her very well. I raised my hand and wave it towards my aunt’s direction. She immediately wave back at me and make a gesture to me that I should hurry up. So I hurriedly made my way towards them.
