Chapter 8: Realize

"Ugh..." Haibara woke up from the slumber with a slight headache. It's been a while since she passed out. She tried to sit herself on the bed in a weak state. A few drop of sweats fell down onto her hand. While she touch her forehead with her hand, she examine her surrounding.

While calmly examine the situation she knew that she was currently in infirmary. She sighed as she remembered why she fainted. The lack of sleep and sudden heart thumping event made her fainted. She thought that the later was much more bad for her heart.

"Good morning, Haibara." said Conan with a smile.

"Huh?!" Haibara startled with a small yelp. A sudden surprised made her fully awake and with her full opened eyes she stared at Conan. She continued

"Wh...what are you doing here??" she said with a loud voice even though she stuttered at first.

Conan looking at Haibara with bewildered expression. He was surprised with her sudden reaction. Normally, she will react calmly whenever Conan greeted him. Plus, Conan once surprised her as well but it didn't effect her very much and she just answered Conan's suprised with "Oh... It's Conan-kun" with a death stare. That experienced made him realize not to scare her in the future. However, he still forget it later and regret his action later.

Haibara quickly maintain her composure and sit properly on the bed while facing Conan. Her face was slightly flush in red. She looked at the little detective which was sitting on the chair besides her bed.

"Are you alright?" Conan questioned her worriedly. He examined Haibara with a quick glance. He started with her head then he moves toward her shoulder. Then, both her hands , her waist and finally her leg eventhough it was inside blanket. Finally, he looked at her face again.

"Yeah. I'm alright."  Haibara said it weakly. She still have many things to ask him included what he had done just now. If she had enough strength she will definitely slap him because he was too rude staring at girl body but she restrain herself as she was still feeling sick. She still need a few minutes to regain some of her strength.

"How long did I passed out?" She asked the shrunken detective while looking at the clock and she quickly grasped how long she fainted. She only fainted for about 30-40 minutes yet she felt it should be longer than that.

Conan stared at her for a bit. After he done examining her and confirming she was alright he ready to continue the conversation.

"What?" She said coldly. However, what she said was opposite then what she feels. Why? She was blushing a bit. She tried to cover it.

"Nothing." Conan avoid eyes contact with her. It was to much for him. Her voice didn't match her expression at all. It was a backfired instead. He thought she was cute at the moment. He tried not to tease her and he continued...

"Ah..About that... don't worry to much. You will be alright. Maybe, It was just just a slight anemia."

A few second has passed. Haibara was staying silence.

"..." She still felt tired. She tried to regain some of her strength by taking a deep breath and Conan noticed it.

"Haibara are you really alright?" Conan said with a worried expression.

"Yeah. I'm alright. I had a nightmare just now." she said while rubbing her forehead gently. She still remember every single detail from the dream. Yeah, her dream about her with him. There was a reason why she said it was a nightmare as she tried to remember it but she was interrupted.

"Yeah. I know." He said with a warm smile.

"Wait.... You know." She quickly respond. Then something like defense mechanism trigger inside her and she quickly react.

"Don't tell me you're watching me while I'm sleeping." She leans towards Conan. Haibara's face turns bright red. She was too shock when she heard Conan's statement.

"Of course. Even more than that." he said with a confusing look.

"WHAT?!" She almost shouted.
