AS YOU TRIED a graceful exit from the car, you watched the ground to make sure you had your footing before glancing up at the rest of the team. The first eyes to catch yours looked you up and down and chuckled.
"Don't look at me like that, Wilson!" You stood a little taller and took a step closer to him, trying to seem at least a little composed. It did nothing to his relaxed posture and shaking head.
"Hey, I didn't say anything," his voice as smooth as always. Your shoulders relaxed from their squared position, and you felt yourself melt a little when he spoke. You'd missed him.
"I know I've seen better days, but so have you," you smirked and exaggeratedly looked him up and down, stopping once again on his eyes that were already intently trained on you.
"If this is your off day, I think I'd die in awe at your best."
"Smooth talker," you mumbled, moving to stand next to him to let the people left in the car file out.
"Ya and you missed it," he leaned to your ear and whispered, barely brushing the hair by your ear.
