'So, you decided to bribe (Y/N) to watch over me?' Sherlock sat in front of the mahogany desk with his legs crossed on the chair. Mycroft gave him a slight nod before pouring himself a cup of jasmine tea. He left his younger brother roll his eyes at him as he sipped on the cup, swallowing two sips before he continued their conversation.

'She didn't take the bribe anyways. By the way, can you elaborate on why you care?' He placed his hands together to think of a good excuse while still keeping his eyes on his brother. 'I can't read her.' Mycroft cocked his head to the side in confusion before realizing what he was talking about. He proceeded to place a red manila folder on the desk before Sherlock. He took another sip as he watched Sherlock opened the file. There was some typing along side a very young picture of (Y/N) in a blank expression.

Name:(L/N), (Y/N)
Age: 10
Blood type:(insert blood type)
Birthday: 2nd January 1981
Assigned code name: Mako
Recruited on 21 July 1991 by scouts, Danial and Bethany (L/N). Psychological, physical and emotional training has been approved by the Foreign Secretary. The facility's doctor has confirmed that (Y/N) does not have existing health issues. Subject will assigned to Team November and class IB-2. Authorization for future experiments granted.

That was in only page one. Sherlock held back a gulp of distress and breathed in sharply as he kept looking through the file, eyes wide in shock.

'I'm not supposed to tell you this but,' Mycroft cleared his throat. 'but (Y/N) was part of a secret government program called The Iapetus Project named after the Titan of Pain and Mortality.' Sherlock narrowed his eyes at his brother and close the file. He sat there, his mind a bit frazzled by the information his brother gave in that one sentence. 'What are you saying?'

'She was trained and tortured to not be read by people like you.' Mycroft got up and straighten his suit along with Sherlock with his wide surprised eyes staring off into the distance. 'You can keep the file if you like. I'm not using it anyway.'

Sherlock sat at his favorite chair, head resting in his left hand as the other flipped through pages in the file.

25 December 1991

Results for (Y/N)'s psychological experiment has been successful. Only half of the subjects came back from isolation being that she was one of them. (Y/N) deals with the experiment in a unique way than all the others. On the first day, she proceeded to sit on the wooden chair crossed legged and close her eyes. Ever since then, she would only open her eyes and get up from the chair when she felt someone moving behind the one way mirror. During the period when she closed her eyes, she would stay completely still and didn't appear to be breathing, leading to many false alarms by the medical team. After interviewing her, she says that she goes to what she likes to call her safe place.

Signed,
Doctor Dylan Thistlewhait

This page was accompanied with a picture of 10 year old (Y/N) wearing dirty white pajamas with a messy short haircut, pressing her hand against the mirror and looking straight at the camera. Behind her was a padded wooden chair with armrests in the middle of the room. Dylan Thistlewhait. The second murder victim.

'What's that?'Sherlock quickly closed the file and looked up. John sat at the kitchen doorway, leaning against the frame with a cup of tea in hand. He kept silent when John set his cup down and came up to him, seeing the file. 'Is that the case file?'

He reached to grab it and pull it away from Sherlock's grasp but he kept his grip on it tight. He tugged again but Sherlock's hands seemed to be glued on the file. Then, it became a tug-of-war between themselves until Sherlock finally let go. He opened the file and his face turned from lazy content to sheer terror as he read through the reports.

'Sherlock, what the hell am I reading?'
