Chapter 3

*(Y/N)’s prov.*

I fell asleep on Naruto when He comforted me after I kicked Sasuke out. I yawned waking up, I didn’t open my eyes and I snuggled into the warmth under me. I heard a soft chuckle before feeling a large strong hand on my head playing with my hair lightly. I opened one of my (E/C) eyes and looked up at who was petting my hoping it was Sasuke and that the events from the day before were just a bad dream. My (E/C) was met with bright sky blue eyes. I knew right away it was Naruto, Sasuke’s best friend.

I closed my eye again and lightly groaned and buried my face in his chest taking in his scent while trying to fall asleep. I heard Naruto chuckle again and felt his chest bounce lightly. “Come on (Y/N) let me up and I’ll make us some breakfast,” He said and continued to play with my hair. I huffed not moving, him playing with my (H/L) (H/C) hair was soothing and making me relax and slowly fall back asleep.

I faintly heard him sigh before darkness consumed me again and I fell back asleep on top of Naruto. I dreamed about the events from yesterday. As the memory played through my head on reply. It wouldn’t stop, I screamed, cried for it to stop, for answers but I got nothing.

I then woke up with a startle I sat up breathing heavily, with tears running down my face. I heard loud fast footsteps as I looked in the direction of the kitchen and saw Naruto running over to me and hugged me tightly. I started to cry again into the crook of his neck and I wrapped my arms around him and tightly grasps on to his shirt. He didn’t move and let me cry into him. He whispered soft soothing words and said that everything would be ok. While he rubbed random shapes on my back. “Shhh sh easy… Everything will be ok (Y/N).” I head him said into my ear, I continued to cry my eyes out again.

*le smol time skip to after the waterworks*

Once I was done crying and was only hiccuping and whimpering a little naruto loosened his hold on me and cupped my face making me looked at him. As hi used his thumbs to gently wipe the fresh tears on my already tear stained face away. He smiled at me placing his forehead against my “everything will be ok… I promise” he whispered softly.

I nodded lightly to him “pr-pp-promise?” I stuttered out weakly. He removed his forehead from mine and gave me his usual big goofy smile “Promise” he replied before he let go and stood up. “Come on Breakfast is ready,” he said outstretching his hand for me to take. I took his hand with my shaky one and stood up off the couch and walked with him to the kitchen.

He sat me down at the kitchen table before going to grab our breakfast. He came back not even a minute later and placed a plate of eggs, hash browns and bacon, and fork in front of me with. Before he sat down across from me with his own plate. I stared down at my plate of food while Naruto ate his. He looked at me worried and concerned “Come on (Y/N) you need to eat” I heard him “I’m n-not very hungry…” I mumbled Naruto’s gaze never left my small sad form “please (Y/N) at least eat a little?..... For me?” He asked and gave me his puppy eyes.

I sighed and picked my fork up and started to eat. Making him smile and finish off his plate. I ate about a quarter before stopping. I gave the rest to Naruto as he finished it off. He then stood to take both plates to the kitchen. He rinsed them before putting them in the dishwasher.

He then came back and asked “I need to head to work. Do you want me to come back when I’m done?” He asked and placed his large warm hand on my shoulder. I shook my head “I’ll be fine. Thank you for coming and staying with me last night Naruto” I said softly

“No problem. Just give me a call or text and if you need anything. Ok?” He said and I just nodded. He took his hand off my shoulder and left walking to the living room. I got up and followed him out. I watched as he got his shoes on. He then opened the front door and was about to step out but stopped and looked at me “please keep your phone on you.” he said his deep voice was laced with concern. I nodded to him again.
