jaemin's world came crashing down, but he's still able to put up a smile and say, "it's alright." "hey, don't lose hope, just wait a bit more alright?" jeno replied, pinching jaemin's cheek.
jeno walked out of the classroom, looking back at jaemin and gave him his iconic eye-smile.
jaemin suddenly heard a loud and short scream, he ran out of the classroom, seeing jeno and another boy on the floor. they stood up quickly. the next event made jaemin tear up.
when the two boys got up, they smiled widely, meaning that they finally received colors, meaning they're each other's soulmates. but what hurt jaemin the most is that he wasn't the reason why jeno finally saw colors, instead, it was another boy.
he heard them talking, "i'm so sorry!" the boy apologized. "it's alright, my name's jeno." jeno replied. "renjun. well, i guess we're soulmates." renjun replied, smiling.
jaemin watched the event unfold, seeing renjun and jeno smile widely and even hugged tightly broke his heart. jeno noticed him and ran to him, still smiling.
"renjun is my soulmate!" jeno announced to jaemin, still smiling. hearing those four words made jaemin break down to tears. jeno hugged him, comforting him. "look, you'll find someone better than me, okay? don't worry we're still best friends." jeno said. but you're the best and most lovable i've found in my whole life. jaemin said to himself.
he nodded instead, still crying. jeno hugged him again and kisses the top of his head before going back to renjun, who's standing there patiently. "love you nana!" jeno shouted. this made jaemin smile a bit.
i knew i never had a chance with you. i knew i'll never be your soulmate.
