The Time Traveler-Awakenings Series

Chapter 1

At Yankee High school area on the date of 10/31/2167

Halloween ahh... how nice it was I was going to be dressed up as a werewolf before people started get awakenings.

When people like my buddy Mack (who died from losing his density so much the wind ripped him apart) started dying from superpowers I knew going out for anything besides school, which was dangerous enough,  was like waving a red flag at whatever was doing this screaming "Come and Get me!" Yeah I planned to live through my powers, but the chances of doing that was 1/1000 even if I lived I'd have to make sure somebody doesn't kill me when they had their awakening. So, anyway I had a feeling nobody would be able to tell the difference between a costume and some sort of morphed awakening. 

Beca  use of this I decided to stay in I knew if anything happened I would be prepared live through it I had thought of every possibility as long as it wasn't psychic ability I'd be fine. I got my power that night along with his four friends Marick, Sofia, Kai, and Lilo. I sat down with the rest of them and we knew that something as going to happen maybe one of us would die. Sofia was 5ft 4, blond hair in a pony tail, brown eyes, and was wearing jeans and a Green Day shirt. Lilo had raven hair, green eyes, was about 5ft 8, wore a blue tank top, and amusingly pokemon pajamas. While in the corner Kai was silent as the night his brown hair was a mess as usual his all black clothing lay against his wiry, and pale frame his hooded eyes looked tired. Marick was tanned, red haired, blue eyed, and bult like an ox the only one of our club to have any sports background he ran track, meaning he saw the school bully run straight into the fence and get mangled when he got super speed suddenly during track. The main thing that kept us all home watching TV was the fact that we all agreed we'd do it together no matter what we'd help the others as much as we can. Each of us took an area of study I took elemental powers, Marick researched physical enhancements, Sofia looked into Shape-changing abilities, Lilo worked on Psychic abilities, and Kai worked on the things no one could categorize. 

Sitting watching the movie on my couch I pick up the remote and turn off the TV. "Hey that was the best part!" Kai says. "We've literally watched this movie a hundred times Kai," said Sofia. I threw up my hands "Guys we could literally die tonight and all you want to do is watch horror movies or argue." I walked around the room pacing Marick chugs a soda "I swear your power is gonna be annoying me to death," I growl out. Marick chuckles "Well we try Alec." I huff in annoyance. 

Lilo pipes up and says "Well why don't we at least check the news to see what awakenings have happened tonight." I nodded and pulled out my laptop and searched,  "Awakenings this Halloween" A list about 20 people long showed up in this state alone worldwide? 20,000 more than any other time of year combined. There seemed to be a lot of transformation Awakenings on Halloween, guess whatever's doing this has a sense of humor.  As this thought occured a tingle went through me along and I stiffened and within an instant my friends had all stiffened up I knew what this was, our Awakening.
