Chapter 6: Divination or Hallucination

Alice quickly rushes over to help him up, but Edward rushed back out and ran downstairs. Alice quickly closed the door and ran over and whispered to him. "No matter what Edward says, you didn't see anything ok..." and he quickly nodded.

Alice handed him a jacket made of dark fur and smiles, looking normal again. "Your gonna need that. Carlisle decided that you should go visit Bella while you can. Jacob caught her trying to sneak off the Reserve." Alice remarked and opened the door, holding it open for him and he quickly walked out back into the glassy and cold part of the house. He thanked her and she gave him a small nod. Then they both descended the stairs to the living room. The air was thick with anticipation and silence. All of the Cullen family seemed to be present. Even the mysterious Jasper and Edwards foster parents, Esme and Carlisle. All of them staring at him and Alice faked a cough and looked at them. "Edward. I'll let you take over now. Your the best at this and you dragged him into this..." Carlisle said with a soft but firm voice and Edward stood up from a chair in the back of the room, farthest away from him. He looked lesser then happy to be mentioned and he walked forward until he stood 3 feet in front of him.

"I'm going to ask you a few questions and I want you to answer truthfully. Regardless of what ALICE said." He said and nearly death glares his sister. She looked down and quickly walked over to join Jasper. Edward walked a foot closer and the smell of cider and rivers filled his lungs again...

"Did you have a... dream before you found out Charlie was missing."
"Yes"
"Describe everything! Even the tiniest detail."
"I was standing in the forest. Near a river... I could hear it rushing and Charlie was a few meters in front of me. Someone was hugging him... but it looked like someone shot him with a shotgun straight through the chest. And I tried to reach out to grab him but I was yanked out."
"Anything stand out. At all?"
"I... think the person who was holding him was a female.... she had long red and orange like hair. I could see it but nothing else."

He heard Jasper crush a glass and Alice immediately took him out of the room to tend to it. Edward looked angry beyond belief. They knew something.

"Now it's my turn. You clearly know who that is. I'm also going to guess you know who took him don't you?"

Edward was deathly still and silent until Esme spoke up. "Victoria. She's a... rather rash member of a rival family that lives in the forest. We believe that she attacked you wanting to kill you, but Charlie woke up and attacked her. Edward and Alice thinks she overpowered him and knocked him out. And then took off with him as you woke up. We also believe that another member returned later and knocked Bella out and tried to finish the job but Jacob Black arrived before they could. You were very lucky that Jacob left immediately to respond to Bella. Any later and you might both have been dead." Esme said to break the air of mystery and stillness. Edward sighed and Rosalie stood up to go next.

"I'll do the next part. Edward is... struggling. Now. Do you have any strange thirsts or lack of appetite since the attack. Probably vomiting, maybe even a need to injure yourself. The last one is pretty rare but it's dangerous if it is." Rosalie asked while sipping on red wine. He tasted bronze again and figured out that he'd been biting his tongue accidentally... that's gonna hurt like hell later. "Yes, to all. That tea that Alice gave me... I can't get the taste out of my head. And I haven't felt the need to eat since I've woken up, as for the harming... I've been biting my tongue randomly." He responses and everyone seemed to go still. Edward in particular simply stared at him with a shocked expression and almost sadness in his eyes. Esme portrayed a almost expected reaction, if not for the underline fury in her eyes. Rosalie almost looked eager, but slightly sad by the notion. Just then Jasper reappeared from the door to the kitchen, and a look in his eyes showed dark intent he was breathing very heavily and his hands were white with fury. He made a single movement, and within a instant Edward and Jasper were on the floor 4 meters away from him on the other side of the room. Edward had him in a headlock and painfully pressed to the floor. All of the Cullen's rushes to their feet to help and Alice appeared from the same door and quickly grabbed your hand and dragged you out a side door on the other side of the house. The smell of the open forest hit him and he stopped to marvel at how beautiful it was at night. The stars could almost clearly be seen from what he can only assume is a porch area. Alice didn't stop to let him ask what just happened however and kept dragging him towards the truck that he'd seen the Cullen's arrive in on the first day of school. Alice took the driver side and you took shotgun, she cranked the truck and you finally manage to speak. "What the hell was all that? Why did Jasper just try to... attack me? And how did Edward grab him within a eye blink?"

Alice was already out of the driveway when she finally spoke. "The thing with Jasper... I'll explain that later, and Edward is easily the quickest of us. He just saw that Jasper was going to pounce and cut him off. Just... give us some time. Once the affects of your affliction finally settle down we can talk. All I'm allowed to say is that... until your better. You ARE staying with us. Once it heals or you... don't. You can choose then to go out on your own. Until then we all agreed that it would be best to keep you under lock and key." Alice said with a clear and commanding voice, one that was out of necessity rather then choice. "Why would I need to be kept under 'lock and key'? And if I'm such a problem then why are you all around me? What do I have?"

"Vampirism. And a rather sever case."
