"...It's time I let you go I made the mistake, go writing your name on my heart
'Cause your colors showed But it was too late, you left me stained, caught it off Do you crave control?
I've been your doll, that you poke for fun too long So you should go
Don't look back, I won't come back Can't do that no more..."
—Trust My Lonely, ALESSIA CARA
"SAM, YOUR UP FOR FRIDAY'S GALA, TAKE PICTURES OF EVERY ARTIST FASHION. Have the edits and completed by Monday on my desk." Avery told me talking fast and pointing at my face. Today is a normal stressing day at work and we are late due to tomorrow's edition. At Least I've not stressed, my pictures are due for next week. But when Avery is stressed, she won't mind chopping your fingers and dropping them in a Nutri-bullet machine if you don't complete your task by the time she needs or wants it on her desk.
"Just give me time and place," I assured her that I could complete my task that day. It's not like I had any other option. Once everyone was dismissed from the meeting, I stood up and walked over to my office to finish editing some last touches for some pictures I took from my last task.
I felt like I heard a light knock on my door and saw Dave standing by the doorway. He has a bouquet of red roses on his hands and a hopeful grin on his face.
"Dave, I think I you know already know my desicion and I don't think I'm changing mi mind anytime soon." I stated giving him a cold stare.
"Then why do you still have the ring on?" he asked glancing at my hands. I kept my straight face on and walked over to him. I removed the finger he had once forced to put on my finger and gave it back to him.
"I.Don't.Want.You. I want to write my own story, not for it to be written for me by someone else that is not me." I paused. "Now walk away and look for someone else to treat like your pet. It ain't gonna be me." I added.
"You are going to regret this Samantha Butcher, you're gonna crawl back to me and you and I both know it. And when you do, and you can't; you are gonna want to rip off your skin from the pain."
I laughed at his "statement". "Do you really think that Dave Kendrick?" I threw my head back and laughed even harder. "I'm sorry but that's not my position at this very moment. It's yours."
With that, his fist tightened up and his knuckles were white. He threw the bouquet to the floor scrunching them up with his feet. Then he turned on his heel and walked away stomping on his way out of the building.
I rapidly went over to my desk to scold my assistant for letting him in. I dialed the number and called her desk. "Yes?"
"Please don't let that idiot pass to my office ever again. EVER. Got it?" I spoke with a ver harsh tone.
