Give Me One Good Reason
What were the odds?
"I'm so sorry-"
"Shit, watch where-"
Both boys caught the eye of one another and Luke was now one hundred per cent certain that the boy with white hair was indeed Michael.
Luke noted that the other boy looked a little bit better then he did the last time he saw him. Michael's eyes weren't as red and it looked like Michael had actually gotten some sleep the night before.
Michael was in school uniform. His collared shirt was still a little too loose on him but Michael still found a way to bend the uniform rules by wearing black socks and his leather vans. The school preferred if you wore navy socks...
Luke could even say that Michael looked healthy if it wasn't for his deathly pale skin and red chapped lips.
Michael looked a little scared.
Luke was shocked beyond words and only moved when Michael dragged them both towards the toilets, Michael knew that going there was a good way to skip homeroom.
He was shaking a bit, Luke noticed. It wasn't even cold outside. It being December, the Australian weather was nice in the morning but got ridiculously hot by the afternoon.
"Michael-?"
"Please, just shut-up Luke!" Michael voice rang out throughout the empty toilets.
Luke flinched; he wasn't expecting Michael to yell at him like that.
"Michael-?" Luke tried again only to get the same reaction.
"Just don't talk, please." Michael pushed Luke against the wall; their heads were at an equal level.
Luke watched as he saw Michael's eyes dilate and saw the other boy's face gently come closer.
"No! You can't do that to me!" Luke, with all his might pushed Michael off him. "You can not do that, you expect that you can come into my life again, change it and just leave?" Luke felt his eyes get a little wet. "I don't know anything about you, all I know is your name and that we used to be close, then what happened?"
Michael's eyes flashed guilty but his anger just increased.
"You never made an effort to friend me again!"
Luke scoffed. "You think I wanted to after the way I see you treat people?"
"At least I don't drop people like broken toys!" Michael yelled.
"At least I don't play with people's hearts and leave for six months!" Both of the boys were now fuming.
In a different reality Luke could imagine that the boys would be aggressively making out at the moment, but Luke didn't want to go down to Michael's level.
"You don't even know why I left..." The anger was seeping out of Michael and he was calming down.
"I don't even know you." Luke said truthfully."
"Then lets change that." Michael said while taking a hold of Luke's hand.
***
Michael managed to convince Luke to ditch homeroom and first period with him, they didn't leave the school grounds, they just went some place where no one went to anymore.
