My Glass Of Wine

I Got home early and closed the blinds,
Placed some roses intertwined,
I set the table and got the plates,
This one is different than the other dates,

I called the florist and asked him twice,
Will my bouquet be ready on time?
I called the office and told my boss,
Hey listen, she's worth the pay loss,

I saw that there's a big black wasp,
Inside my kitchen on the roast,
I plunged my swatter on the bee!
And made sure everything was made perfectly,

I took the turkey out the oven,
And sliced the bread nice and even,
I dressed it like a perfect bride,
Yes I do have a Romantic side,

I chose the best bottle of red wine,
And placed it on the table,
Along with other greens and vegetables,
It looked like a stable!

But then I held the case I bought her,
And put it in my pocket,
It held the stone of fortune,
It was my mothers locket,

I dimmed the lights and played some music,
It was the right time to choose it,
Jazz it was that set the mood,
And that's what added flavour to the food,

I opened the door and took her hand,
I kissed it like a gentleman,
Brought her to my secret lair,
Not before I hid my underwear,

I sat her down on her favourite chair,
And made her cozy and comfortable,
I paid her compliments on her soft, long hair;
This evening is incomparable!

I looked at her as she looked at me,
We looked at each other constantly,
We spoke, we laughed, we played some bluff,
And in the end it still wasn't enough.

And when everything was said and done,
I dropped my fork on the ground,
And as I knelt to pick it up,
I looked at her like a newborn pup,

I put my hand in my pocket,
And pulled out the case,
She was crying and sobbing,
As I held it to her face,

I got up and held her as she said yes,
Suddenly my life wasn't a mess,
I sat her down once again,
And held her hand like a pen,
We looked at each other with those smiles,
As I told her...
I want you to be mine for the rest of time,
I want you to be my Glass Of Wine!
