Mei's POV

I was walking hurriedly papuntang cafeteria para maabutan ko pa ang libreng breakfast doon.

Kahit ako'y isang pasyente dito sa ospital na ito, we are allowed na mag-roam even if we're alone.
To give us some privacy of course.

Nang ako'y dumating sa cafeteria, agad kong hinanap ang aking all time fave.

Ang Chicken Adobo!

Ops!
Pero ang pila sa cafe ay sobrang haba! Para bang may celebrity na nag papafansign doon.
Pero syempre, you gotta do whatever it takes para makuha ang gusto mo. Kaya sumiksik ako sa pila and suddenly, I was pushed out of the queue.

What the hell!?!

Wala bang priority lane dito para sa mga pasyente?!!

I was angered to the point na mapapamura ako!

"Ay punye—"

then suddenly I heard a whisper through my left ear.

"Oops, masama mag mura."

It was... uhmm...
who the heck?

"Uhm, sino ka?"

It wasn't someone I know kaya I immediately asked her who is she.

"Oh sorry! I haven't got a chance to introduce myself yet because I was about to stop you from cursing hehe."
"Hi! I'm Vanessa, Vanessa Scarlet."
Ang pangiti nyang sinabi.

Then napaisip ako,
Wow foreigner?
Ang ganda!
Ang puti nya!
Wow! Redhead, sosyal!

"Uhmm... Ok. Thanks for reminding me not to curse hehe."
Pangiti ko ring sinabi

"What's your name?"
Ang tanong saakin

"Mei! Mei Panganiban!"
Sinabi ko ng payabang.

"Wow! what a beautiful name! Oh! I saw you from behind and got pushed by the others from the line and I rushed immediately to help you since you're a patient. And I saw you salivating about that Chicken Adobo hahaha."
Patawa nyang sinabi.

"Y-yeah, I'm hungry, that's why."
Sinabi ko kay Vanessa.

Then suddenly she walked away from me and took something from the counter.
It was her food. A Caldereta and a Chicken Adobo.

She gave the Chicken Adobo saakin at sinabi.
"Here, I got it for you. And Oh, don't even think about repaying me, it's just that, I don't want people owing me one hehe."

"Sure!"
Sinabi ko ng naglalaway habang nakatingin sa Adobo.

"Wanna join me?"
Sinabi ko.

At pumayag naman si Vanessa.
Agad kaming humanap ng table para aming makainan.

"There! It's vacant."
Vanessa said.

We rushed sa table para 'di kami maunahan.

We ate happily and also talked about each other. Syempre I asked where's she from and said she's from America.

Tinanong ko sya kung bakit sya nasa Pilipinas at sa ospital na ito.

"I have a boyfriend here in the Philippines, he's currently diagnosed here in this hospital."
Sinabi nya ng malunkot.

Tinanong rin ni Vanessa kung bakit ako nasa ospital na ito.

"I have Leukemia and was diagnosed here ever since I was born. My days are numbered."
Sinabi ko ng dismayado.

"Oh, sorry."
Vanessa said.

Kami'y agad nagusap ng ibang topic upang hindi maging awkward.

We talked and talked hanggang matapos na ang breakfast namin.

"Thanks! I had fun talking with you."
Vanessa said.

"Me too!"
I said.

Then suddenly a familiar voice called Vanessa.

Si Vanessa ay tumingin sa aking likod and lumingon ako and sa aking gulat...

It was Borris!

"Oh, my boyfriend's here. Gotta go!"
Sinabi ni Vanessa ng pangiti.

Si Vanessa ay lumapit kay Borris at nagyakapan ang dalawa.
At tinanong ni Borris sino daw kasama niya at sinabi ni Vanessa ang pangalan ko.

"It was Mei. Someone I met earlier."

"Mei?"
Patanong na sinabi ni Borris.
Tiningnan ako ni Borris at nagulat siya.

"Mei?!?"
"You know each other?!"
Sinabi ni Borris ng pagulat.

Oooohhhhhh~~~
