Beca moved into her new house at the beginning of spring. It was still cold from the winter but it was becoming increasingly sunny and warm each day. Beca had moved from New York to Los Angeles in hope to become a famous music producer. She had written a passel of original songs that she was determined to give to multiple music companies. She had a good feeling about her music since she had gotten many good reviews by other musicians, all of which encouraged her to pursue her dreams and move to L.A.

Beca had just finished paying the removalist when she made her way into her new house. It was a beautiful two-story house that looked almost identical to the other houses in the street. They were white with black peaked roofs. There were two windows facing the front of the house on the bottom floor and the top floor. It was a very traditional suburban house but Beca was happy with it. She was lucky that she got such a great deal with the house. She managed to score a nice house in a nice neighbourhood. It was a quiet and peaceful street with luscious green trees that shaded the road and the sidewalk. Some trees even joined together forming an archway over the road. It was something out of a movie and Beca knew that she was going to enjoy living in her new residence.

It was getting late and Beca still had boxes to unpack. The woman didn't have many possessions but she wasn't the most active and motivated person when it came to doing things like unpacking, cleaning up, and so on. So, yes, Beca took her time to unpack. In what should have taken a few hours took her all day but she didn't mind. It wasn't like she was expecting company. That was until her doorbell rang for the first time that day. Who is that? Beca thought to herself. She made her way over to her front door and opened it up to find a young woman in her late twenties with bright blue eyes and radiant red hair. She was extremely beautiful and she made Beca's throat go dry.

"Hi!" The woman greeted, her smile just as bright as her eyes.

"Hi," Beca returned the smile, but not as big.

"I'm Chloe - your neighbour. I live just to your right."

"Oh, hi. I'm Beca," Beca extended her hand and shook it with Chloe's.

The redhead had extremely soft hands that were also the perfect temperature. The woman actually made Beca get a bit flustered.

"I just wanted to welcome you to the neighbourhood. I saw you moving in earlier but I didn't want to bombard you when you were busy," the woman explained.

"No, that's fine. Thank you for the welcome."

"You're going to like it here. It's so peaceful and everyone's super nice."

"I'm glad," Beca smiled.

"I'm sorry that I didn't bring a housewarming gift. I wasn't expecting you to move in so soon so I haven't had time to prepare you anything."

"Oh, that's okay. You don't need to do that. Just coming over and welcoming me is more than enough."

"Aww, you're so sweet!" Chloe beamed. "But I'm afraid that I must insist. Would you like to come over for dinner tonight?"

"Dinner?" Beca echoed.

"Yeah! I'm cooking, obviously, so just let me know what you'd like and I'll make it. It's the least I can do for my new neighbour."

This woman is too happy to be real, Beca thought.

"Ah, okay. Sure. I'll be happy to come over for dinner. I'm not a fussy eater so you can make whatever and I'll eat it."

"Okay, sounds good! Well, how about you come around to my place at six and we'll have it then?"

"Sure."

"Excellent! Oh, and don't bother bringing anything. You're MY guest so I'll provide."

"Okay," Beca laughed.

"Excellent! I'll see you at six."

"Sounds good."

Beca and Chloe exchanged a final smile before Chloe turned on her heel and left. Beca shut the door behind her and rested against it, feeling her temperature drop back down to normal. Chloe was an extremely attractive woman. Beca had never seen anyone like her. She was pretty much the exact opposite of Beca. Beca was only five foot two with brown hair and steel blue eyes. She had a rather hard face and a badass look since she always wore flannel, jeans, and boots, not to mention her multiple ear piercings and tattoos. Beca never cared what people thought of her but if she was being honest, she was actually quite intimidated by Chloe.

The woman was beautiful, bubbly, and welcoming. So it was a little odd when Beca met her because she never met anyone like Chloe before. A complete stranger just asked her over for dinner. That had never happened to Beca before but then again, this was Beca's first time moving into a house of her own so she was bound to experience new things.

"Dinner at six..." Beca said to herself with a small smile then made her way into her living room where she began unpacking more of her boxes.
