"Can't you just bring her back to life, mom?" the little girl said, wishing for her grandmother to come back. "I'm sorry, sweetheart, but I can't." her mother replied, tears falling down her face. "But why can't you?" the girl asks again. "I just don't have the power to do that." wiping the tears from her and her daughter's face, she answers.
They watch the coffin being buried. Silence fills the land.A sorrowful two hours later, the mother and daughter leave the graveyard. Another enigmatic silence on the ride back home. They really did have a lot of things on their mind right now. Especially the mother.
She'd decided it was time.
It's been a whole 5 years since their father left them. Their lives have been harder ever since.
If only, he'd actually care for the two, maybe their life wouldn't be so worrisome. But some things can't change, especially people's personality. Either the people around them would have to cope with it, or, well, there really is no other option. It just isn't really much of a big deal nowadays.
The pair arrive home, and the keys shackle. The door is unlocked, and the mother hurries up to the attic, scavenging through old documents. She finally finds the aged piece of paper, and steps down the creaky stairs.
The daughter gives a puzzled look, tilting her head slightly.
"Sweetie, keep this. This is an important agreement. Promise me you will keep it safe and find the people written on there." the mother says in a serious tone. "I promise, mom." the girl reassured. She was just turning 6, but she's responsible enough to handle these kinds of things. "I'm counting on you, sweetheart." the mother steps up once again, this time to work.
The girl is left with the paper. She walks to her school bag, and keeps the piece in her diary. This will make sure of the secrecy and safety of the contract.
