"WHATS YOUR NAME!" the Nazi official spits at me. I could tell him the truth, I could tell him that my name is Hedya, and suffer the consequences of being a Jew. But I could also lie  and tell him that my name is Aldine, but if I lie, I'll have to continue lying, and the current life that I know could quickly turn into dust. The truth about lies is that lies are very convincing, you will forget the truth and start believing in your lies as if they are the truth. But one lie will never satisfy a question, or the devil inside, you will have to continue lying, and form a chain, but as we all know, all chains break, as will our chain of lies. Then the punishment will be severe but I don't have much of a choice.

I keep the urge to look back, because if I do, the official will realize in no time at all that i have my tribe with me, my blood sisters and brothers, all waiting for me to come back triumphantly with the food I stole, they will never expect this.

"WHO AM I TALKING TO?!"

OK, deep breaths, I have to think of something and it has to be quick, what do I do?

"Aldine," I say, and that was easily the worst decision I've ever made.
