Matt
Today I found out something terrible! Something horrible! Something that has made me feel like hiding out at Toby's house!
TODAY I FOUND OUT THAT ME AND MY FAMILY ARE MOVING!

I always knew this day would come, but I didn't think it would arrive so quickly! My mother and father told me this morning that we had to move to the other side of the country. When I asked why, I expected a 'just kidding' but instead got 'get ready Matt, we are starting a new life in Western Australia.' It was the worst news I had ever received.
During my unnecessary outburst, I heard a knock on the door. Toby had come over and I felt the tears threatening to fall out. He was my only friend and the best person to hang out with.
He had come with his mother and father and beautiful little sister. My mouth dropped open when she said "Hi, Matt!" With the dreamiest voice to go with her soft, gorgeous hair. I was pretty sure I was drooling. I was thinking I should probably say something like 'hi, Sophia!' When I saw her smile her gorgeous smile. Had I said that out loud? No way.

All of a sudden I felt the threat of tears crawling into my eyes knowing that I would probably never see her again after I move.

My mother and father came downstairs from their room to greet Toby's parents. Toby was asking me if we could go and play soccer in my backyard, but I wasn't listening.
Sophia then asked the same question and I said,
"Let's go!"
But as soon as we stepped outside, mother had called us in for dinner.
Mashed potato and stuffed capsicum...great. I sat down at the table regardless and Sophia sat in the chair right in front of me. Toby was asking if we had to eat the stuffed capsicum, and mother said yes. I didn't really care.

Lightbulb! "Can I have a sleepover at Toby's house tonight?" I asked. After a quick glance in Toby's parents' direction, mother said, "Sure that sounds like a great idea."

I quickly ran upstairs to get packed and after about two minutes, returned with a full backpack and a big smile.

After dinner, us three kids went outside to play soccer. After about three games, we all went inside, tired and sleepy.

Toby's parents were leaving when we went outside. I picked up my bag off the floor and got into the car next to Sophia.

When we got to Toby's house, we went straight to bed because we were just that tired. I tried but I couldn't fall asleep. I guess I was too upset that I was moving away. I turned onto my side and saw Sophia staring at me with a worried look on her face.
"Don't worry Soph, I'll fall asleep eventually."
"That wasn't what I was worried about."
A small, perfect tear rolled down her rosy cheeks. Instinctively, I wiped it away with my thumb and gave her a sad smile. She snuggled into the palm of my hand and fell asleep. After a while I did too.
