A/N:
I hope you like the George point of view. Now it's going back to Matt and Sophia. Brace yourself. Two years later...
Matt
Two years ago was when Sophia must've started university. I started two years before that. Uni has been great. I made a few friends and all but no one was as, kind, beautiful or trustworthy as Sophia.I didn't ever have a real girlfriend. I guess no one really caught my eye. I did have a couple of non-exclusive dates, but none of them made me feel...anything. Sophia was my best friend and perhaps it would have become something...more had I not moved. Everyday of my life was the best when Sophia was a part of it.
This week, I will graduate and finish university. I get to go home to my parents afterwards. I just hope it would come quicker.
Graduation day...
This is the day. Graduation. My parents haven't arrived yet and they are calling everyone inside the hall. I can't wait any longer so I go inside and find my seat. When my name is called I get ready to say my speech, hoping that my parents would be there to hear it.
I get up onto the stage and I can't see my parents. They still haven't arrived. This is the day I get to go home and they aren't even here to see me graduate.
After my speech I get off the stage and look for my parents. They still aren't here. When it is time to go home, I walk into the parking lot and see a lady in my parents car. She somehow recognises me and hops out of the car, introducing herself as one of my parents' nurses. She told me she was there to take me home.
After about a two hour drive, we arrive home and she gives me the keys to the house and the car.
"Your parents were very nice people," she seemed to be getting sad while saying this. I'm afraid of where this sentence is leading to.
"They passed away with happy memories and big smiles. This house belongs to you now."
She grabs her own car keys and gets into a black Audi down the street. After she drives off, I walk inside the house and immediately start crying. All of the memories they must've had without me. Why wasn't I informed earlier about them? I should've at least been invited to the funeral.I walked into the living room, my tears turned into sobs, and I saw a small, well-wrapped present awaiting me. I opened it and read the card inside:
My sobs turned into tears of joy as the present was the keys to my old house back in Sydney. They never sold it.
I needed a plan. And I also needed a car.
Instinctively, I walked into the garage and saw a shiny new silver Peugeot, waiting to be used. The keys to it were on a shelf in a small box among all the tools. Now all I had to do was pack. One week later...
Everything was planned and ready to go. In a few moments I will be leaving with my new car and packed luggage to go to my old house. I just had to do one more thing first. I had to lock this house.I needed a plan for just in case Sophia and Toby didn't live there anymore. I hoped with all my might that they did. And if so, then I will sell this house in Western Australia and live in Sydney forever.
I'm so happy and grateful for my parents. They will remain forever in my heart.I got back to Sydney in 2 days with some rest in between. My house looked exactly the same.
Toby came around and he definitely looked...different. But then again so did I. I was hoping he remembered me because otherwise this whole thing would be awkward.
That reminded me of Sophia. The way she embraced me like she was never going to let go. Just then I noticed a girl, more beautiful then the last time I saw her, but how was that physically possible. I must be dreaming.
"Sophia, Matt's back!" The extremely beautiful girl turned around and I knew that was her.
But I had doubts that talking to her would be like talking to a stranger.
She walked over to me and as she got closer she ran and then hugged me just as tight as the last time. I hugged her back.
"Hi, Matt."
"H-h-h-hi, Sophia." She chuckled slightly and with that, all of my doubts had disappeared. Seeing her and hearing her dreamy voice again was like a dream come true.A/N: please make me smile by clicking that star at the bottom of the screen please 😁
