Sophia
I went to my grandparents house and played on their farm with their dog Matty. His name reminded me of Matt. I really hope he comes back. Until then, I have a very cute dog to keep me company.

The next day, I woke up to the sound of a pick-up truck reversing into the driveway of my next door neighbour. Someone must be moving into cranky old Margaret's house. At least it's not Matt's. Thank goodness that no one has moved into there yet.
I looked out the window and a blue SUV was parked in the driveway with the pick-up truck next to it. I ran downstairs to take a closer look.

Suddenly my knees felt week and I had to rely on the pole next to me to hold myself up. A small boy about my age had stepped out of the SUV and was smiling right at me. I had a sudden urge to run inside and lie on my bed, but I didn't move. I waved and smiled back. He looked like he wanted to say something but is mother pulled him away, hissing something at him and giving me the dirty.

The next day was a school day. My first day going to school without Matt. How will I ever get through this. The last few days with him were amazing, but everything has to come to an end I guess.

I found myself wondering about the boy that I saw yesterday. Wondering if he was going to be in my class since this was the only local school in the area. What am I thinking? He will never even speak to me.
"Hi, aren't you the girl that lives next door to my new house?" This boy looked so familiar, as if I had seen him before.
"If you live in 22 Park Avenue, then yes." What was I doing?
"Cool, I'm George."
"I'm Sophia." We walked the rest of the way to school in silence. Once we reached the gates of the school, we separated. All of the soccer lovers that used to hang out with Matt were all over him like a shiny new toy, and I was stuck wondering it would have been, had Matt never left.

When school started, Ms Edwards announced that we had a new student joining our class.
"5E, this is George Smith. You must welcome him to the school appropriately and be kind."
"Hi, George." The entire class changed.
George walked over and sat in the empty seat next to me.
This made all of the boys go like, "Oooooooo, guess who's in love with Sophiiiiiaaaa?"
The girls in the classroom had a newfound jealousy going about them, and I have to admit, it made me feel special.

But then again, Matt always made me feel special. I was on the brink of tears again and it was starting to feel like he had passed away instead of moved to the other side of the country.
