"..."

It took me a second before I realized my feet had lost touch of the building.

I could honestly say I had never panicked to this extent before.

My body tilted forward with my hands frantically swinging in the air.

The top of my foot scraped the edge of the building as I fell.

"I'm going to die"
"I'm really going to fucking die" my brain repeated.

I closed my eyes in disbelief.

"aaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"

I yelled.
The pressure on my intestines felt disgusting.
I instinctively curled into a ball holding my legs.

"I can't die here..."

"What about my parents?"
"What about Ryan?"
"What about MY CHANCE AT LIFE?"

"I don't want to die..."

My heart plummeted to the ground at the same speed I was.
When I briefly opened my eyes and saw the distance to the ground.

I felt beaten as I looked at the top of the building getting further and further away from me...

I fell sideways wich caused my body to slam into the side of the building,
breaking some of the glass.

The pain caused me to open my eyes as I gasped for air.
The impact tilted my body into falling head first.

I could feel the adrenaline rushing through my veins,
I looked down and saw the girl falling at a few feet away.
I looked at her in frustration.

some of the broken glass hit her wich caused her to look up,
She looked me in the eyes and then turned back around.

Suddenly she did something completely unexpected.
She extended her limbs wich moved her closer to me.

She twisted her body and threw her legs back wich tilted her into falling head up.

Her sudden actions gave me a pinch of hope

If I could just get to her...

I darted my arms around in an attempt to grab her,
Wich caused my body to start spinning uncontrollably.

That's when she extended her hand and grabbed my arm. That broke my momentum and stopped the spinning.

She pulled herself closer to me and clenched onto my shoulders.

She then used her other hand to place her fingers over my eyes in an attempt to block my sight.

I didn't close my eyes for a second.

I looked through the openings of her fingers as I caught a glimpse from the surface.

We were only a few feet from impact. Immediately I closed my eyes.
When suddenly... I heard an explosion.

I heard a whistle sound and saw a bright flash of light.
The next thing I felt was heat, extreme heat.
As I looked closely I realized it was fire.

Fire?
Why was there fire mid-air.... and at this moment?

Did she catch fire or something?
My brain couldn't make anything of it.

The speed we fell at steady slowed down. In a moment it felt like we were floating.

But heat was so extreme I felt like I was about to get burned.
I screamed as I pushed her away.

I instantly regretted my decision. I looked into her face and attempted to grab her by the arm. Our fingers slid
over each other as we lost touch.

I gasped fully expecting to continue my fall once again.
However instead of falling I slowly floated downwards.

I gazed at her again and saw that the flames belonged to her, they formed two crimson wings that showed from behind her body.

Her wingspan was about twice her body length despite her already tall posture

They emitted a soft light and slowly moved the same way her hair did. It felt like we were underwater, however that wouldn't be possible because I could still breathe.

I looked around and realized my surroundings were looking a lot different from before.

I saw a tunnel-like structure of blue light surrounding me.

The tunnel was moving upwards and There was no gravity inside.
I was pretty amazed, I'd never seen anything like it.

Out of curiosity I touched the sides. My finger went through the wall and left an empty mark where I touched it,
the mark grew longer as I continued the move down.

It was hard to breathe inside the portal.  Besides I still hadn't caught my breath from the fall.
and it only got worse as the seconds passed.
I was starting to feel dizzy and tried to stabilize my breathing.
I was struggling to keep my eyes open.

I looked down.
At the end of the portal I could see an opening.

Gravity started to pull on me again. The speed I was traveling at increased as I got closer to the end of the tunnel

I fell through the portal as  she struck me.

She caught me by the waist.
From the back this time so I had no escape.

I didn't feel any heat this time. But I could hear her wings cutting through the air.

I couldn't keep my head up anymore.

My eyes were squinting when I looked down and started to take in the new environment.

the air felt dense and the view was  entirely different to the beautiful sunset I was just watching.

It was bland, there were no plants and no wildlife except for the birds I saw once in a while.

The ground was filled with ruins and remnants of what appeared to be a previous society.

"What is this..." I thought to myself before I lost consciousness.

I blacked out.
