Hyperhello/The Fall

Hey guys!

I wrote this story two years ago, after the passing of one of my favorite artists, Mac Miller.

I basically day-dreamed the whole story up while I was listening to his music. The titles are the songs I was listening to during each chapter(some of them are just titles like 'hyperhello')

I hope you'll enjoy it!

It was the 25th of may and I was walking home after school.

I spent all day staring outside the window, listening to music to pass time.

I was listening to 'Dang' by mac miller.
I'd actually been bingeing the entire album for a week.

The walk from school to my apartment was about 8 minutes.
Sometimes I'd take the long way home just so I could finish the last song.

The next song started playing,
'Stay' started blasting through my headphones.

I could already see my apartment complex.

The music made me doze off, my body went on autopilot.

I started shaping the world around me.
I gave it...
Some colour...
Some warmth...
Some life....
I turned off gravity,
I felt like I was floating.

In just a matter of seconds I changed the environment around me.
It was vibrant,it was...
beautiful.

It was an ability I developed.
In my mind I could create anything.

This ability helped distract me from my anxiety, my grades, my commitments.
It distracted me from the past and the mistakes I'd made.

If I could
Id stay here forever.

It was perfect here

Or was it!?!?

I looked to my right.
It stood there,
Where it always stands,
a blank canvas.
Another fabrication of my mind.

Every time I'd come here,
This black hole would be standing right beside me,
Following me wherever I go.

I stared,
but it didn't matter
I couldn't fill in the pieces.

I sighed.

Even in here I couldn't find it.

Something. Or

Someone...

I always listened to my music on low volume so that I was aware of my environment.
The only exception was when I was walking home.
No one would be bold enough to make a move in the midst of the busy city streets.

At least I thought so...

I could hear something over my music, but it wasn't clear enough to put me back in focus.

I was waiting to cross the road when suddenly I felt a jab to the stomach.

Ah!....

I took a second to catch my breath.
As I looked up I realized it was my best friend Ryan.

We applied for the same college,
but unfortunately we ended up in different classes.

And on top of that he managed to get a girlfriend,
wich narrowed the time we spent together even more.
