The Elemental War

Prolog

The clans of the dragons were living together in peace. 

The Fire Clan lived near the volcanoes of the world they were the colors of red and orange, sometimes black patterns or even yellow. They had strong wings when they would fly the skies for food. They would hunt in small pairs. A group of no more than four dragons on a hunt. They ate cattle, horses, large prey like that. As they stood at a height of 25-30 feet. The females were no larger than 25 feet and the males no larger than 30. The hatchlings of the clan were born in the core of their lava homes as their king was King Sorin, he was among the largest of the dragons of the clan. As his Queen, Queen Flare had passed of an illness many years ago. He had one son, Prince Phoenix who would be next in line for the throne. 

The Water Clan lived in the oceans of the world. They had fins and swam, none had wings but they were able to go onto land to help the Earth dragons. The Water dragons were different colors of blues, purples and turquoise. They hunted the fish of the sea and they hunted in groups of two. Living in underwater caverns with a space to lay their eggs. They would get to the height of about 20-25 feet. They were among the smaller species but that never stopped them. The females were no larger than 20 feet and the males 25 feet. Their ruler, King Horizon and his Queen, Atlanta. Together they had a daughter named Oceana and their son Caribbean. As their daughter was the next in line for the throne and their son would become a captain of the army. 

The Earth Clan lived and tended the land. They had no wings for they didn't fly, they lived and hunted on the ground. Their colors were browns and greens as they lived in caves in canyons and mountains. They hunted whatever large prey they could find on the ground and hunted alone. They stood anywhere from 16-20 feet, the smaller of the dragons but they were not weak. They were ruled by King Iron who had lost his queen, Queen Cavern to a battle many years ago. He has a son named Prince Stone who would take the crown when he was ready. 

The Ice Clan lived in the cold areas of the world, they would live in ice caves and mountain tops where they would raise their young. They're colors included white, gray, ice green, and light blue. They had wings of ice and flew the skies as they preyed upon the yak, caribou and other larger prey that lived in the ice. They stood 30-34 feet tall. Females no lager than 30ft and males no larger than 34ft. As their ruler was King Icebound and his Queen, Queen North. Their children were Prince Noel and Princess Icicle. The prince would be the next in line for the throne and the princess would become a captain of the army. 

The Air Clan lived in the skies above. No wings and four legs as they were light grey and white coloring living in the tips of the tallest mountains as they hunt in pairs of three for large prey and even larger birds. They had tuffs of fur on their heads, tips of their tails and sometimes their backs as they were light on their feet and never heard when they fly. They were ruled by King Storm and Queen Breeze, they had a daughter named Princess Flight who would take the crown when she was ready they were the smallest of the dragons as they stood 14 feet tall both male and female but they were about 10-15 feet long.

The Electricity Clan lived in an unknown part of the world. Some say they lived in the storm clouds others say they lived in caves that produced lightning. They were the colors of yellow and gold as they hunted alone and had wings that allowed them to fly with the lightning storms that passed through the land. they stood no taller than 30 feet as they were ruled by King Strike as he lost Queen Flash to illness as he has a daughter Princess Brightlight who is next in line for the throne. 

The clans lived in peace and helped each other through the many years of the dragon world. "When is the eclipse father?" asked Prince Phoenix of the Fire Clan. "Next few moons." answered his father, King Sorin. The Fire clan enjoyed the eclipses of the night for this is when they are granted extra power. For Sorin had a plan. That was to take over the dragons world. It was said from The Seekers, the dragons who tell prophecies of the future and they had foretold of a black and white dragon who was the symbol of Yin-Yang who would balance the world and end the upcoming war between the clans. 

Soon came the year where the dragons would lay their new eggs. A female fire dragon named Firefly laid her egg in her volcano den. The eggs wouldn't hatch for another few months as she awaited for her egg to hatch. At this time Sorin wished to start his overruling of the dragon world. He had ordered his army to go and start taking over the Clans. Once he gained word of the prophecy he ordered a killing on all eggs of the clans. Only a select few in his own clan were allowed to keep their eggs as Firefly was one of those. 

Firefly went to The Seekers for a vision. She walked into the cave and met the six beings. Spark or the Electricity Clan, Odin of the Air Clan, Peral of the Water Clan, Everest of the Ice Clan, Smoke of the Fire Clan and Rocky of the Earth Clan. "You have come to seek the future Firefly?" asked Odin. The female nodded "Why is it my king has killed off many eggs of his own clan and the other clans?" she asked. "There will be a dragon hatchling who will end his war, and bring balance to the world once more. The hatchling will be black and white and be the living symbol of Yin-Yang. He will hold all the elements including the knowing light and mysterious dark." Answered Everest. 

"What clan will he be born in?" asked Firefly "He will be born in Fire Clan." Answered Peral. "My clan." said Firefly Spark nods "He will be hatching with the others, but he needs to be hidden." he said. "Who is his mother?" she asked "You are, Firefly." Smoke said. Firefly was taken back and shocked. "My hatchling is the Elemental." she said. The Seekers nodded and vanished as Firefly awoke in her lava den her unhatched egg protected by her tail as she looked back at her unborn hatchling and sighed.
