THE DAY YOU FALL IN LOVE
IS THE WORST DAY OF YOUR LIFE

because it makes you believe that it's the best, hiding the ugly behind the happiness.

The day you fall in love is the day you open the gates to your heart, ushering in beautiful gifts, sweet nothings and grnd romance. But the day you fall in love is also the day you open yourself up to jealousy,  to disappointmet, to broken promises, to never being enough, to treachery, to pain.

When you fall in love, you are at your most vulnerable and you have no control over what you feel. You may be hit by Cupid's arrows,  making the love grow in your heart, but what you don't know is that some of them are not really Cupid's arrows, but daggers, spears, and swords. Some will keep your heart beating. Some will stab it and leave it wounded. Some will do it so fast you'll hardly notice. But some will do it quietly,  unnoticed until it's too late.

The day you fall in love,  you open up to the romance, the comedy, and the tragedy of love. It's the day you go down a tunnel with no visible light at the end.

The day you fall in love is the worst day of your life because of the unkown, the vague ending, the dark future. It's scary because you know that the path is long and arduous, and even if you want to go back, you won't be able to. You can't even see the end of the road. You don't know if you'll end up in a beautiful meadow or if you'll go tumbling down a cliff. And sometimes, just when you think you've seen the end, the path leads you somewhere else.

The day we fall in love is the worst day of our lives yet we still welcome it—anticipate it even. We've heard of the dangers and we've been warned, but despite all of them, love is still a path we choose to follow.

But it is precisely this bravery and willingness to face the unknown that makes love beatiful. It fuels us and drives us forward. It could be on our first try or after several detours, but one day, I hope we can all look back and be glad that we chose to go down that road; look down at our scars and be proud we endured them; look at the people we loved and be glad we loved them; and most of all, look at ourselves in the mirror and know that we didn't give up, not on them, not on ourselves, not on love.
