Chapter 13

[Reader's POV]

I toss my shoes off of my feet as we walked into the apartment, Jin's head perking up from the coach in curiosity. "Sooooo, how was it?" He asked.

Jungkook and I both sigh. "It was amazing, the lights were so pretty and magical. I've never seen anything like it," Jungkook said with pure amazement. "But then we ran into some homeless man who was looking for a fight. We didn't even get to see the big Christmas tree because of him!" He said with a pout.

Jin chuckled and shook his head. "I'm sure the Christmas tree is going to be there next year, ya'll can go next year." He said.

I look up from taking my socks off to stare at Jin. "What makes you think we're going again next year? Let alone together?" I asked. I could see Jungkook's face full of disappointment, but I was more worried as to what mine looked like.

My cheeks had probably turned all red thanks to Jin. How did he know I had already planned for the two of us to go next year? And the year after that?

Doesn't matter what Jungkook and I become, a couple, best friends, doesn't matter. I would give anything to see the same reaction that he had tonight on his face again. Anything.

The handsome man shrugs. "Well you never know," He said grabbing his expensive looking coat and scarf. "I should get going, I have a man waiting for me at home." He said with a wink.

Jungkook and I both whistle. "WHO?" We yell simultaneously. 

"A man never reveals his secrets." He said before leaving with a laugh. The two of us both look at each other and shrug before turning back to what we were doing before.

I take my scarf off of my neck and hold it around my arm. "Did you enjoy tonight?" I ask sitting down on the coach where Jungkook had been resting his feet.

"I loved every second of it, I don't think I've ever experienced something like that and if I have, it was a long time ago." He explained.

"Didn't your mom ever take you to see them?" I asked, he just shook his head.

"Even without my step dad in the picture she never took me out to see something like that. We were either too poor or too busy for something like that. Although I wasn't able to see the lights like we did tonight, I was at least able to leave the house." He chuckled, probably at a fond memory he has.

My head turns to the side. "Like what?" I asked. Jungkook let his head fall back in a laugh.

"You know, things kids to when it snows. I went out into the front yard during the first snow fall and create a snowman, invite my good friend Namjoon over and we'd have a snowball fight with the rest of the neighborhood kids," He explained his story with a fond smile on his face, unfortunately that smile didn't last long.

"Then my step dad decided to join the family. When the first snow fall came I ran out of my room with my boots and coat on, Namjoon already waiting for me outside, but he was right there. Right in front of the door, blocking me from leaving. Stating that I could get myself hurt from playing in the snow, by not knowing if anyone had put something in the snowball. It was stupid." He said looking down at his hands.

I scoot closer to rub my finger through his hair. "I know your step dad isn't a very good person but I'm sure back then he was doing it out of protectiveness." I say. 

Jungkook chuckles. "I doubt it. He probably didn't want me to get hurt because then he'd have to pay for the hospital bill. This went on for years Y/n, until that one fateful day." His voice had gone quieter.

"Oh Jungkook." I lean over and wrap my arms around his shoulders, his head falling down onto my shoulder. "Don't be upset, this was supposed to be a happy night. I'm sorry I asked." I whisper. 

Jungkook shook his head. "It isn't your fault Y/n," He leaned out of the hug to grab both of my cheeks, putting our foreheads together. "Thank you for such an amazing night and I hope you'd rethink your answer and take me again next year." He said making the both of us laugh.

"Definitely, only if I get the same reaction you had tonight." I say. Jungkook nods his head.

"It's a done deal."

wow two chapters in one night? its a miracle. well not really i just have a lot of ideas for this story at the moment and everything seems to be coming together :)
