Getting a grip

(I just want to say I'm Irish and in Ireland pants means what you were under your clothes so I'm going to be calling them trousers or bottoms)

Luna's pov
"Luna, wake up, you are starting high school today" my mom shouted from downstairs. I woke up with a start. I ran to my closet and looked at what I had. I picked a black pair of trousers and top and then put an unbuttoned plaid shirt on top. I grabbed my glasses and walked downstairs. "There you are, I made pancakes!" She said happily holding up a plate of pancakes. "Thanks mom" I said as I took the plate and sat at the table. I took a bit of it and it was...not the tastiest. "Oh, this is....great" I said as I put some sugar on it. After another pancake I got up and got my bag. "Oh darling, you're father would have been so happy to see you today" She said in a happy-sad voice as she handed me a lunchbox. "I know mom, I miss him too" I said as I hugged her and then left. I took a deep breath and set off to school.

I arrived at the school and walked inside. "All new students please go to the main hall" came an announcement. I looked around and soon found it. I walked into the massive hall and saw tons of other teens. I walked over to the closest one who was a boy with brownish almost black hair and wore a bluish white shirt with grey trousers. "Hi, what's your name?" I asked. He looked at me. "Oh, yeah I'm Luna Hamdon....by the way" I added awkwardly. "I'm Xander, my friends call me Xan, well if I had friends" he said calmly. "You don't have friends?" I asked sadly. He looked at me for a few seconds. "I mean no one does, it's the first day in a new school" he explained. I blushed a bit at my stupidity "oh yeah that.....well can I call you Xan?" I asked cheerfully. He nodded and opened his mouth to say something. "Hello new students of Megadale High School, I am principle Kelly Hamdon, I hope you all enjoy the next four years of your life" came a voice from the top of the room.

A while later we were sorted into class groups and given schedules. Me and Xander were in most classes together except German,Maths and Woodwork. The first day was orientation so school was over after a few hours. Xander walked over to me at the end of the day. "So are you walking Home this way?" He asked. "Oh yeah are you?" I replied. He nodded as we started walking together. We talked about school and I realized we watched the same tv show. We were almost at my house when we passed a park. All of a sudden I felt a strange feeling throughout my body and all of a sudden I transformed into shezow. I looked at Xander who was wide eyed and then around. Fortunately no one else was around so I quickly pulled him into a bush.

We sat there in the bush for a few seconds before he managed to say anything. "Are you ok?" I asked nervously. "You're SHEZOW!" He almost screamed. "Hey, don't go shouting it to the rooftops!" I said sternly. I thought for second, wondering if shezow had a power to erase memories. "We should probably talk somewhere more comfortable, do you want to come over to my place?" I asked as I nervously laughed. "Shezow come in shezow!" Shela's voice came from the hologram that came from my ring. "Why did I turn into shezow? I didn't say my call to action!" I said. "One of your powers is... why are you in a bush?" She asked as she realized. "Long story now why am I shezow?" I replied hastily. "When your she-s-p noticed danger you automatically transformed, you will change back when you get rid of the danger" she explained calmly.

I got out of the bush as I asked "so where's the danger?". "Cold Finger is freezing the school" she said. "Xander, you should go home, I wouldn't want you to get hurt" I said to him. "Wait what if you need help" he shouted after me as I started running back to school.

At school
I arrived at school and looked around. "Oh course this had to happen on the first day of school, Shela where is he?" I asked. "He is in the principal's office" she said. I walked into the school and walked to the main office. "Shezow, Is that you?" A woman said from behind the counter. She had black hair in a ponytail and wore a white dress shirt with a purple skirt. "Aunt kel...I mean your Mrs Hamdon, right?" I said managing to stop myself. "Luna?" She asked. How did she know? Was it that obvious? I must have looked shocked because she then added "I knew about Guy". All of a sudden Xander showed up. "Cold Finger is in the principal's Office, it's the second door to the left" she said. I ran off as Xander followed me.

"Sorry Cold Finger but Winter isn't for a few months" I said as I walked into the room. "Where have you been Shezow? Was that supposed to be funny?" He asked. Shela reminded me about my laser lipstick. "Laser lipstick!" I said as I activated it. I ran towards him and tried to swing at him. Before I could hit him he blew a blast of freezing cold air at me. Suddenly I dropped my laser lipstick and I felt weak and couldn't stand up. "Shezow are you ok?" Xander asked from the doorway. "My powers, I feel weak" I responded. Cold Finger started preparing an attack when Xander grabbed my laser lipstick and tried to hit him. "Shezow, your hair is messed up use the shellac in your beautility belt" Shela said. "Is now really the best time?" I retorted. "Just do it" she said and ended the transmission.

I grabbed the shellac, sprayed my hair and it fixed itself. "I feel shevitalised!" I said and got back on my feet. Just then Xander got knocked back by a gust of wind. I got up then punched cold finger and he flew back against the wall. "Are you ok?" I asked Xan before quickly turning back to Cold Finger. "You just got lucky Shezow!" Cold Finger said as he ran away. The school thawed almost instantaneously and I automatically detransformed. I walked over to Xander and gave him a hand getting up. "We should go" I said as I looked out the window at the slowly darkening sky.

At my house
We were in the She lair and I was asking Shela lots of questions I had about Shezow. "So you decided not to tell the person with a secret identity, that they could transform at any moment without choosing to!" I angrily pointed out. "This Place is so...pink, I like it" Xander said. I looked at him with disapproval. "Are you kidding me! It's so pink, too pink, what about blue or purple?" I said first to Xan but then Shela. "Shezow's powers come from pink, if you don't wear it they'll be on the blink" she further explained. "Ok, so I'm stuck with pink? No black?" I double checked. "Oh, you are your fathers daughter aren't you" she said. "Luna, how does the computer, I mean Shela know your dad?" Xander asked. I thought for a second. Am I really about to tell the first friend I make in Highschool about how my dead father was a female superhero for years? Then I noticed the clock on one of the screens. "It's really late you should probably go home" I said trying not to sound rude. "Good point" he said before grabbing his bag and leaving
"At this rate, the whole school will know your identity by year end" Shela joked. "Ha ha, shelarious" I replied with a tone of salt in my voice.
