Friend or foe?

Chapter: 2

<Lyoko>

A series of blue lights began to flash in an unorganized manner soon after Jenny's reply.

The room she was in became dark. Jenny tried to look at her hands but the darkness didn't allow her to see anything.

Suddenly, a surge of electric waves went throughout her body rapidly as if they were huge ocean waves crashing onto the shore.

In situations like these, normal people would feel terrified and will start to panick.

But Jenny was different.

In fact, she was calm and composed. Somehow, in her heart, she knows that she is safe because she's in Lyoko.

All was silent until a soft whisper flew by her ears. She tried to focus on it but the electric currents are making it difficult for her to do so. Jenny tried to shut her eyes really tight and placed all her energy into the whisper.

"Wilhemina...", She heard.

That soft voice sent shudders through her body. It felt weird and yet strangely familiar.

Jenny now turned her attention to remembering the owner of the voice that she can hear.

She thought long and hard until a specific word flashed across her mind: Mother.

In her mind, she refused to believe it. How could it be? Her mother was dead after all and it doesn't make sense to her if her mother was still alive after all these years.

She breathed in deeply, "Are you... my mother?", and stared into the nothingness expectantly.

Like magic, a small shimmer of light shone through the darkness and a womanly figure began to appear.

"You're not my mother." Jenny said immediately as soon as she saw the figure in clear perspective.

The figure smiled warmly at Jenny before walking towards her.

"Yes, I am not your mother. I am not your adoptive mother either but, I am someone who you need and someone that needs you as well." The figure explained.

Jenny's shoulders started tensing up as she feels a little threatened by figure. Moreover, Jenny thinks that whatever that the figure said does not make sense.

Jenny looked at the figure, ready to ask the figure for their identity and the figure merely smiled and said, "I am X.A.N.A, your mother in Lyoko."

<Earth>

Jeremy and Aelita were both pacing around the room, trying to figure out how to save Jenny.

"Einstein, what if...", Yumi stared at the ground for a moment to collect her thoughts "if we tried contacting or send a message to Jenny through the supercomputer?"

Upon hearing Yumi's proposition, Jeremy's eyes lit up as he sat down on his chair to began preparing a programme to allow him talk to Jenny.

Odd got up not long after Jeremy started typing to stand beside him to watch him work. Anyone could tell Odd was nervous even if he was standing still.

Ulrich and Aelita praised Yumi for the fantastic idea before heading over to the computer to watch Jeremy's actions.

With all eyes on him, Jeremy wasn't distracted and nor was he nervous about messing up. He just typed word by word very easily like his fingers were dancing on the keyboard.

Time passed by as the gang watched Jeremy in anticipation, waiting for him to make contact with Jenny.

"I got it!" Jeremy cheered.

Everyone's heads leaned in closer to the screen, focusing on a mini chat box that had appeared.

"Well? Can you type anything yet?" Odd asked impatiently.

Before Jeremy could respond, the chat box started to show that someone was typing.
