The first thing you notice when you step out of the jet is that it's hot. Like hot, hot. The sun's high up, even though it's almost the end of September, and it's gotta be like 77°F.

You were obviously used to New York's chilly weather, having grown up in the city that never sleeps, and never really travelling to the sea.

You had met Demi in December in a cafe in one of New York's busy streets and you immediately hit off. Now, 10 months later, she's took you to Texas, to see her family.

You've only met her older sister Dallas, but the rest of the family is yet to meet.

After you've collected your luggage you had a driver take you both to the De La Garza household. And that's where you are at right now, low-key freaking out as you stand in front of the mansion.

"Calm down babe, they're gonna love you!" Demi smiles, grabbing your hand in one hand and her suitcase in her other. You can only quickly grab your own suitcase in the other hand before you're dragged to the huge white front door of the house.

Demi knocks on the door until an older woman opens it.

"Demi! Hi, you're finally here!" She screams, pulling her daughter into her for a hug.

"And you must be y/n, it's so nice to finally meet you!" She says, letting your girlfriend go and pulling you in.

"It's so nice to meet you too, Mrs De La Garza!" You say, softly smiling as she lets you go.

"Oh, please call me Dianna. My husband should be around here, let me call him. EDDIE!! THE GIRLS ARE HERE!" She yells into the house, and a big man comes walking into the hallway.

"Ah, you're here. Hi, y/n. I'm Eddie, it's nice to meet you!" He says, shaking your hand as you greet him before he hugs Demi.

"Let's go bring our luggage up, before dinner, babe" Demi says, dragging you into the house and up the stairs. She walks through a hallway and opens one of the doors, showing you a light purple colored room with a huge king sized bed in the middle of one of the walls.

"Wasn't that bad, huh?" She giggles, nudging your hip.

You drop your suitcases, opening them up on the floor to worry about unpacking later.
You quickly freshen up before going downstairs again for dinner.

As you sit down at the table with Dem's parents, the door opens and a brunette haired girl walks in, stopping in her tracks when she sees you sitting there.

"Oh my god, you're here! Demi's told me so much about you! She can't shut up about how pretty you are and how beautiful your voice is and how sweet you are a-" she starts saying before she's cut off by Demi.

"This is my little sister Madi, as you may know" she giggles.
"Hi!" Madi says, coming over to hug you.
"Now let's have dinner, ladies" Dianna says, bringing over the food.

Throughout the whole dinner, there's a sort of interview for you by the whole family, and you get to know more about them too. And after dinner, you're taken to Eddie's study by him to get the 'don't break my daughter's heart' speach.

The next day, you're taken out by Demi to see more of what Dallas has to offer, from Waffle House to Dallas Zoo. You two have the most fun you've had in a long time.

The whole week that you two spend in Texas with her family is a lot of fun and you have now seen some of the best spots in Dallas, them wanting to show you everything.

You've also immediately turned into the favorite daughter-in-law, yes, you're the only one but also the favorite one, - Dianna's words, not yours. And you're even sad to leave for home at the end of the week, which is surprising since you seemed to be kinda nervous to go, but all turned out good.
