----------------------------------------

I woke up and stretched myself out.

I had a weird dream where I was running through the city of Havens. We were under attack by giant spoons... I have no idea what it was supposed to be about.

I shook my head and got up. I had no idea if we were going to have another mission, but I was really hoping that we wouldn't. I was still really tired. After getting up, I got myself ready for the day.

Shower, teeth, hair, uniform... the usual.

I looked in the mirror and stared. I just stared. I didn't know what I was looking for-- or at. Apparently, just my reflection. I looked into my own eyes and saw... nothing. There was nothing there but darkness. A never-ending darkness that pierced into the darkest depths of my soul...

I shook my head.

What was that about? Jeez...

I walked out of the bathroom and out of the room. Making my way to our designated conference room, I bumped into Edmond.

"Oh hey...good morning," he said.

"Good morning... how'd you sleep?"

"Decent I guess, you know, considering..."

"...yeah."

An awkward silence filled the air as we stepped into the lift.

What a perfect combination... a lift and silence...

I know, right?

"Wha-"

The door to the lift opened and we found Katie standing right in front of us.

"Oh hey, guys," she said. "What's up?"

I decided to forget about whatever that was just now, and talk to Kate instead.

"H-hey, not much, I kinda just woke up."

"Oh," she started, "I've been up for a few hours already, I fell asleep really early last night."

Edmond walked past the both of us into the lobby, and Kate had a confused look on her face.

"Where's he going?" she asked.

"I don't know, he said something kinda off earlier, but he didn't tell me what he was doing."

"Huh... well who needs him anyway? I'm on my way to the Bindow, we're about to pass a comet or something."

"Really?" I asked. "Which one?"

"I don't know, someone said that we were gonna pass it up soon, and we can't jump straight to Terrus right now because of the asteroids. So I might as well take a look. Just my luck that I can't see my fam. They're the only ones who blah blah blah..."

She started going on about her friends back in Havens; a story that I've heard from her many times before. It wasn't going to end anytime soon.

I started walking towards the observatory, which everyone called the Bindow. It was just a big window on the side of the ship. She followed me and her voice didn't stop until we made it to the Bindow. I gently opened the door...
