SIX

Fletcher had a rush of abundant motivation the following day after he got the idea to tell Olive their love story. He woke up extra early, before Olive and during breakfast he got out his laptop at the island in the kitchen. As he scooped up spoonfuls it cornflakes, Fletcher opened up Google and began searching "random facts." When he found a list of one hundred, he took a notebook and wrote a bunch down. Then after he finished his cereal he started memorizing them. He did that by merely reading them over and over until the facts got stuck in his head and he could recite them from memory. He spent so much of his energy memorizing that the time slipped past him. Olive had woken and already got dressed for the day.

"I'm picking up phone at Angus's shop," Olive said on her way to the front door.

"But you didn't eat breakfast," Fletcher pointed out.

"I'm not hungry, thanks." Olive touched the doorknob.

"Wait before you go!" Fletcher sprung out of his chair. "Did you know that Bulls are actually colorblind so it doesn't matter what color if flag you wave at them?"

Olive let go of the doorknob, turning around slowly with a quirked eyebrow. "Thanks for that random fact," she said skeptically.

"I've got another one," Fletcher said. "Did you now the only dogs with black tongues are the The Chow and Chinese Shar-Pei?"

"Well now I do," she said.

"But wait I have more," Fletcher raved. "I bet you didn't know that the tongue of a blue whale weighs more than an adult elephant."

Olive looked at him with an "I have know idea what the heck you are talking about" Look.

"Interesting..." she said.

Fletcher smiled a cheesy kid smile. Olive backed away awkwardly as her hands fumble to find the door knob. She finally opens the door and escapes in a rush to Angus's repair shop. Inside there were three other customers already ahead of her, so she sat in a chair in the corner of the shop waiting to pick up her cell phone.

Olive found herself admiring Angus who was behind the front desk attending to a customer's needs. She really like his curly-tousled brown hair and his rosy cheeks. He had a friendly smile on for every customer and there was a certain twinkle in is left eye when we he said, "have a nice day." Olive was caught up in her admiration she didn't realize the customers had left.

"Hey Olive! You're back," beamed Angus, looking at her from across the room. Olive stood up, her cheeks becoming hot and she gradually made her way closer to the desk.

"Uh yeah I wanted to check if my phone is ready," she asked.

Angus's head turned all degrees while his hands fumbled around the desk. He snatched a phone that she recognized as her's and he shoved it behind his back.

"Um, it's not quite ready yet," Angus told her.

"When do you think it will be ready?"

Angus pressed his lips together tightly. "I'm not sure."

Olive swatted her hand. "Oh no worries."
