MY POET FRIEND, OLAN : LIMERICK
On Wattpad I have a friend named Olan,
A poet, an artist, and a gentleman.
His poems could outdo those of *E. Lear.
He could even compete with Shakespeare.
His art surpasses the best of **Gaugin.

A/N * Edward Lear (1812 – 1888) was well known as the pioneer of
the limerick and was famous for 'The Owl and the Pussycat,'
a nonsense song that tells of the love between the owl and the
pussycat that led to their marriage with the turkey presiding
over the wedding.
**Paul Gaugin (1848 – 1903) was a French post impressionist
artist, known for his bold colors and stark contrasts.
I dedicate this limerick to the very talented poet and artist, Olan Smith
(Cotton Jones).
