Jesse's POV
Lukas and I were back to back, fighting off zombies in the jungle without our armor which we left at home for some stupid reason. I felt confident in my abilities, and that I didn't need armor or extremely good weapons to defeat basic mobs like zombies.
"Jesse, why did we not bring our armor and good weapons?" Lukas asked with a slight tone of fear within his voice.
"I don't know, I thought we'd feel cool." I came up with an answer off the spot, because I truly didn't know why I decided that we shouldn't wear our armor, because I know that Lukas isn't that confident with his skills. He's pretty good, but he just never really finds anything he does good enough to hit his expectations for himself.
"More like feel a bit unsafe, but if being unsafe is cool, than yeah, cool." he replied in a sarcastic tone and he backed up slightly more towards me.
Suddenly, the leaves in a certain area of the jungle move at sonic speed, faster than a cat would normally, but I would rather not put Lukas under any more pressure than he already is, so I keep quiet.
Finally, we had cleared the wave marching towards us. "Thank god, that's over," Lukas sighed with relief.
Aiden emerged from the bushes, covered in leafs. "Oh look, it's the leader of the order of the losers and his little sidekick who had left my team."
Lukas sighed as he began to explain, "I didn't leave, you completely kicked me out after I saved you guys."
"Oh shut it, dumbass." Aiden mocked.
"Look Aiden, I'm not letting us resolve this with violence, what's your problem? I'm sure we can talk this out." Lukas put his sword behind him, and so did I.
"I'll just get straight to the point. Why did you leave us the night of the witherstorm?"
"You guys were being obnoxious that night, harassing others, stealing things, and bragging in people's faces. Maya was also being very flirtatious with me that night, and she wouldn't stop no matter how many times I said no to her, and of course, I didn't wanna deal with it, so I tried to get far away and after that, Jesse and I started talking, specifically about how Petra had gotten scammed of her wither skull, and you know how I was pretty close with her so I wanted to help."
"You totally made that up."
"No, I remember it perfectly, even some specific things you said to me that night, and Maya as well."
"Liar."
"So be it, if you think I'm a liar. It won't affect my life since I'm not in yours anymore."
Aiden grabbed Lukas' arm aggressively, about to twist it out of place. "Are you sure about that?"
"Aiden, calm down." I had stepped in as Lukas' expression began to show slight panic.
Aiden stepped back and grinned evilly "Shut it, theif. Wait, you two are probably dating, aren't you?"
"Why would you have a problem with that? Steph told me that you and Gil were dating." Lukas immediately replied without a moment of silence in between.
