Requested by Pteragon sorry if this isn't what you meant when you asked if Addie and Nell had a former war or alliance, but this is the first thing that came to mind when you requested this

3rd Person POV

"Thanks for collecting all these dyes for me, my dudes." Nell collected the last of the chests containing the dyes Jesse and Radar had gathered.

"No problem, I can't wait to see what kind of designs you make for your new line of surfboards." Radar told her while attempting to hide his rising blush when his and Nell's hands touched as he handed her the last chest.

"Cha dude I can't wait to see what we can create too."

"Uh, we?" Jesse questioned.

"Oh I don't mean 'we' as in 'us'. I managed to start a kind of club for artists to come in and do what they want on the boards so that other people can use them in style." Nell motioned to some people who were waiting inside an openly aired beach hut right next to her board rental shack.

"Look out below!" They heard a yell from above and, crashing down, came Addie. As soon as she got up a parrot flew off from where she had landed.

"Whew....that's the last time I go flying through Beacontown with seeds stuck to my outfit." Addie blew some hair out of her face and brushed off said seeds from her clothes and the parrot flew back to peck at the seeds.

"Why is it we see you crashing more often than landing?" Radar asked out of the blue.

"I don't know, I'm just a natural-born clutz, on the ground and in the air." Addie caught sight of Nell and coughed a bit awkwardly before saying,

"Well, I have to get going, I've got some...stuff to do." Addie launched herself off the ground and flew off rapidly.

"What was that about?" Jesse asked Nell.

"Don't know, ever since she came to live here and I accidentally bumped into her on the dock, she and I haven't really talked much."

"What happened when you did see her?" Jesse asked worriedly.

"Well I was bringing in the boards that someone left on the edge of the dock and she was standing at the edge looking down at the ocean and when I went up to her to introduce myself, I lost my grip on the boards I was carrying and they knocked her off into the water." Both Jesse and Radar cringed at that, "After that, I tried to help her out, but she just flew off back to town. You think she doesn't like me?"

"No, it's not that, but I think I do know what's happening... Wait here, I'll be right back."

Jesse ran off in the direction of Beacontown.

"Come on." Jesse came running back with Addie in tow.

"Why do you need my help so close to the ocean?" Addie questioned nervously.

"I think you and Nell got off on the wrong foot and we're here to help."

"Yeah, I didn't mean to knock you into the water." Nell tried to apologize.

"No no, it's not that I promise." Addie was quick to shake her head and quicker to wave her arms around like a pinwheel.

"Then what?" Radar questioned.

"I'm just not really good around water, I'm kind of hydrophobic." Addie admitted while rubbing her arm.

"You're afraid of water?" Nell repeated in disbelief and Addie turned her head away and nodded slowly.

"It because of the island isn't it?" Jesse asked remembering how they, along with Lukas, had met.

"Yeah, a couple hundred years before you and Lukas came, I grew so desperate to try and escape from my prison that I attempted to ram the barrier head-on from the sky." Addie rubbed the back of her neck at that part, "After hitting my head really hard, I passed out and woke up hours later in the water at the very bottom of the ocean floor and I just got so scared that I grew afraid of it. When you and Lukas shipwrecked on the island, it took all my courage to get you two out without completely freaking out."

"Woah, that sounds intense." Nell told her with her brows furrowed with worry.

"So you associate water with that memory?" Jesse asked and Addie nodded in response.

"So, it stands to reason, that in order to get over this fear, you need to associate water with a good memory." Radar hypothesized.

"That's the thing, I don't have any good memories with water on the island."

"Then, you'll just have to make some good memories here." Jesse opened her arms to gesture to the beach and Beacontown in the distance.

"I-I don't know about this guys." Addie started to back away from them slowly before Jesse placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Come on, what do you have to lose, you're immortal remember?"

"I guess you have a point there... but still, it's not all it's cracked up to be." Addie put her hands around her elbows and shrugged her shoulders up nervously.

"Come on dudette, let's go dec some boards." Nell pulled on Addie's arm and they went to join the other people in painting the surfboards.

Time Skip

"How's it goin' you guys uh girls?" Radar stuttered, blushing as he and Jesse approached the group as they finished up their boards and put them up to display to passing customers.

"I actually had a lot of fun painting a surfboard and I'm glad to see how it turned out." Addie gesture to the board she painted one in all dark purple with white swirls surrounding a black ender dragon that was spewing light purple fire, "All the time on the island gave me a lot of time to dye banners and create new designs."

"Cha! You're a natural at making boards, but now we have the ultimate test: can you ride it?" Nell pulled the board down and handed it to Addie as she started to rapidly shake her head no.

"I can't surf! I can barely walk and fly!"

"C'mon it's just like gliding a current in the air but on the water." Nell grabbed another board with her other arm and dragged Addie towards the beach.

"We better supervise, C'mon!" Jesse mimicked Nell on the last part and took Radar with one hand and another board in the other and ran after them as they made their way to the beach.
