Hi people, I hope you like the story so far! It may be a fairy tale, but that doesn't mean it's only for kids. Enjoy!

---------------------------------------------------

The next morning, her mother went to work, meaning that Ella was alone all day because she couldn't go to school. She had nothing better to do so she began to walk. She wasn't planning to go anywhere in particular, but she somehow ended up at the foot of the eternal rainbow.

Finally, she walked under the blinding arch. Again she saw the bow being replaced and heard screaming and faint words.

After she was twirled into the strange, mystical land, she began to make friends. She played with and took care of them; she tickled the tigers tummies, she brushed the horses manes, she swam with the fish, she swung on the vines with the monkeys and flew on the birds backs.

All but three animals liked her. Those animals didn't like her because they were afraid that she might steal their keys. Those animals were the the bear, the magpie and the serpent. The magpie and the bear knew that the serpent had a reason for letting Ella into their world. They each owned part of a key that could only be reached by solving three riddles.

After a whole day of exploring Ella decided to return home. She hopped on the back of a bird and directed him towards the rainbow. Soon the serpent came into view. The bird landed and Ella thanked him and watched him fly away.

As she approached the serpent he was ready and waiting to tie himself into a bow to transport the girl down.

"Mr....." She struggled for a name for the slimy amphibian. "What should I call-" she was interrupted before she even realised what she was saying.

"Sir or Mr. Serpent."

"Oh" Was all Ella managed to utter. She stared at him, dumbfounded. She had thought that he was rather simple.

"Yes?" he demanded

"Are going to let me go down or not..... Sir?" she demanded

"Yes as long as you come back tomorrow"

"I promise" replied Ella. She thought it bizarre that he was so insistent, but brushed it off. She was too curious not to.

"Very well then. On three!"

Together they said the words in time.

"Tie a bow, Tie me in a slithering bow, Now drop me down, on the safe hard ground"

There was a sudden outbreak of screaming and groaning as the snake was twisted once more into a bow.

Ella was deposited on the ground safe and sound.

The next day, she woke up before the birds were even stirring. The girl set off for the rainbow, determined to enjoy her day out, well up. She had left a note for her mother, explaining that she went out for a walk. This was true, just a rather brief explanation.

When she got there it was still early morning as she had ran all the way there. Ella sat down on the grass and pondered her actions. It suddenly hit her that she mightn't have been wise to trust the snake.

She then decided to go up even though she didn't trust him.

"Tie a bow, Tie me in a slithering bow, Now drop me down, on the safe hard ground" said Ella.

There was a horrible scream from above and she twisted and turned towards the sky. When she got there, the snake was smiling evilly at her. He slithered over to her and said: "You are now trapped in this world forever! You are nothing but a foolish little girl!" he cackled as he squirmed away.
