Hi again, I couldn't resist the temptation of writing more, so here I am! Here is Chapter 2, have fun!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
She leapt to her feet and looked around, searching for one. At last she spotted it! There was one thing that stood between them. A long, slimy, yucky thing. A serpent. Ella was scared of serpents! And this one was guarding the rainbow as if it was treasure. She ran towards it, but got tired very quickly, so she started walking. After an hour or so, she had almost reached her destination. She had one step left. Then she took that step forwards and the serpent slithered forwards as well. The little girl took a deep, deep breath.
"Yessss?" he hissed.
"You can talk!? Wait a second, you can talk! If you can talk, can you tell me whether or not if it's possible for me to return back to the ground and if this rainbow will take me there and how? I'm sorry, but I'm in such a rush and you're terrifying me because you're staring me with your enormous red eyes! Ella had talked so fast that it was hardly possible for another human to understand it, let alone a snake! Nevertheless, he understood her.
"Well..."slithered the snake.
"Will this let me down?" She enquired
"Yesss" he wheezed.
"Very well then, thank you for your....." She struggled to find a word" - co-operation. I'll be off now!" she said this whilst walking into the rainbow.
Nothing happened, absolutely nothing. She waited for a minute or two, whilst glaring at the snake. This gained her nothing.
"You must know the s-s-s-pecial s-s-s-entenc-c-c-e in order to be let down" said the snake.
"Well then tell me the sentence." Ella commanded even though she was in no place to command as she was smaller than a speck of dust.
"I shall tell you the sentence if and only if you promise to return two more times" answered the snake.
"I give you my word" the girl replied feeling rather unsure about the snake, but she wouldn't mind coming back to visit the place.
"Then repeat after me" challenged the snake "Tie a bow, tie me in a slithering bow, now drop me down, on the safe hard ground.
"Tie a bow, tie me in a slithering bow, now drop me down, on the safe hard ground" echoed Ella
"Aaaaaagggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" screamed the snake as his body was twisted into a slimy green bow to replace the rainbow as he and Ella twisted and turned towards the ground.
As Ella walked back to her cottage the snake thought about his evil plan and cackled.
Meanwhile, she had lots of time to make up an excuse on her way.
When she got home her mother was angry with her for not getting any berries for their porridge. Ella thought this strange. Why was her mother worried about berries when her only child had been missing for hours? She looked at the clock on the wall and realised that it was only an hour after she had left! That was impossible!
