Chapter 3

Three days after the weekend the incident at Willshire Hills occurred, the school bell of Echo Ridge Elementary School rang, and Geo packed his bags. The other students said their good-byes to Mitch Shepar, the teacher, as Geo looked at Bud's empty seat. He missed hearing that guy cheer for the end of the day so he could get something to eat. "Geo…" Luna called to him as she reached for his shoulder. "Bud will be back soon. Then we can hear that bonehead talk about the things he ate while he was recovering."

"I feel like…it's my fault," Geo said to Luna, with Zack Temple and Jack behind her, both of them concerned for Geo. "In the end, he…he apologized. I knew there was something wrong, but he…he should've been back my now."

"Even if it was only recent," Zack stated, "Bud DID cause that mess in the theaters. There wasn't anyone else. So the Satella Police would have to interrogate him a bit longer to see why he did it, though I doubt he did it on purpose."

Jack crossed his arms and leaned on Geo's desk. "He was th' only one of us who could EM Wave Change while Geo was in th' projector's computer server. Though the EM Viruses made their way to us, somethin' coulda triggered th' sudden change."

All of a sudden, the two of them felt blows on the center of their heads. Luna was glaring at them. "You're not making it any better, you two!" she hissed, turning back to Geo. She can tell how guilty he felt, but she knows that Geo wasn't the one who did the petrifying, and that it was her somehow. The fact that Geo has been in such a depressing mood for the past few days, according to his mother, was annoying her greatly.

"Hey, you two!" she said to the other two boys, "meet us at the lobby downstairs! We'll be right back!" Jack and Zack looked at each other and shrugged, leaving the classroom eventually. Then Luna turned to Geo and readied her finger. "Snap out of it, you dummy!" she roared and grasped Geo's bare ear, twisting it in a quick motion.

"OW OW OW OW OW OW!!!" Geo exclaimed as he tried to break free. It was painful! He could feel the tears coming to his eyes! "Prez! Ow! Leggo! Ow!" And just as he said that, Luna let go, flexing her thumb and index fingers. "What was that for?!"

"Get over it, Geo Stelar!" she exclaimed. "It's not your fault, and there wasn't anything you could've done! But you tried your hardest and saved many lives that day! Be proud of yourself! You're Mega Man!" Then she smiled, placing her hand onto Geo's shoulder. "You fought Bud to save Bud. No one else could have done it but you." Finally, she slapped Geo on the back and grabbed her bag. "Now hurry up and meet us downstairs! We're heading to Vista Point!" She proceeded to the door and slid it to the side.

Geo held his ear as he watched her, and a smile formed on his face. "Thanks, Luna," he said to her as she stopped. "I don't think anyone else could've cheered me up better than you."

"Just hurry up, okay? I don't wanna wait for you for too long." Luna didn't look back, but she was smiling as well, her cheeks slightly red, and slid the door closed.

Now that Geo was alone, Omega-Xis formed behind him. "That girl is scary sometimes…" he muttered, scratched his cheek with his EM Body's claw.

"Yeah…" Geo chuckled and placed his bag onto his back. "But it'd be better if it were her and not anyone else!" With renewed resolve, he put Mega back into his Hunter-VG and left the classroom, passing Shepar in the hall, and headed downstairs to meet the others. "Okay. Let's head to Vista Point!"

As they headed outside, Omega-Xis forced himself out, looking around. The children stopped and looked at the AM-ian. "What's up, Mega?" Geo asked. "Lately, you've been letting yourself out a lot. Is something wrong?"

Mega turned to the group, then to the sky. Some of the few remaining Wave Roads were still visible, even with the advancement of technology, but there was nothing there. "Hm…maybe I'm just seein' things…" he muttered and went back into the Hunter-VG.
